THE PAST CONTINUOUS ( OR PAST PROGRESSIVE ) How can we make the past continuous? Firstly, check that you know how to make the
past simple with 'be' (subject + was / were). Then just add verb-ing.
POSITIVE FORM : I was sleeping you were working NEGATIVE FORM : you were not (weren't) working he was not (wasn't) coming

We have 2 ways to make question sentences :
1. 'yes / no' question2. 'wh' question / information
just like the past simple with 'be', to make a 'yes / no' question, put 'was / were' in front of the subjectTo make a 'wh' question (of course) put the question word at the beginning

PAST SIMPLE VS PAST CONTINUOUS
Here's a quick reminder of the rules of using past simple and past continuous together
In this sentence there are two verbs:
I was watching television when he arrived. The first action is a long action - it lasted for a period of time. We therefore use the past continuous.
The second action is a short action that has interrupted the first. So for this we need past simple!
