This year's U'N'I was different in

more than one way. Due to a veryshort lunch hour and many extracur-ricular activities, U'N'I workers couldnot meet in one large group, so theybroke off into smaller groups with thesection editors in charge. They not only add one newAlto and one new Soprano, making the total 14 insteadof the old 12, but they ob-tained all new Elizabethiancostumes. Continuing withtheir uniqueness they pre-sented a Christmas pag-eant never to be forgotten, complete with boar's headand beautiful singing. Ma-drigals also participated ina state-wide music contest, did some taping and wenton an out-of-town tour.

Carols" accompanied by harp, and popular Christmascarols were presented by Mixed Chorus at the traditional

Uni High Christmas Concert. A break with tradition

came with the operetta. This year, instead of performingone Gilbert and Sullivan, Mixed Chorus presented twonon-G&S operettas, the hilarious "Love is a Gamble" andthe musical Mozart Operetta "Bastien and Bastienna".

Spring Concert was composed of American written songs.

The 70-71 version of the Illineks was much better than last year's teamand near the end of the season romped to victory over Onarga Military Aca-demy 79-45. Even though we only won one game the team worked hard in

practice and in games seemed to play its' best against the toughest oppo-sition. The team was led by two juniors Jim Bartle and Greg Walters andsenior Kim Jones. With over half of our points returning next year weshould have a good basis for a team. This year's team was coached by JackAshenfelter who did an excellent job in shaping us up into a presentable

bunch of ball players.

The 1st Book of Our Class

or

Genesiskoplis

In the beginning Wilfred and his Holy Administration picked the Class of '71. And the Class waswithout form and void: and Wilfred said, "Let there be classes." And there were classes, and Wilfredsaw that they were good. And so it came to pass that the Class of '71 were and they received his

blessing.

Now there was a plague upon the land of Uni, and this plague came in two persons—and lo thefirst be Swen gel, and lo the second be Lo. Now the people of the Class knew well how to attacketh

these creatures. For yea, the Class gave Lo so much trouble that she smote the Class, saying, "Verily,

verily, I say unto thee, I can't taketh it any longer."

Now Swen gel hadeth a different tactic—an emissary of evil nameth Mither Martin. He wreakedmuch havoc on the peoples of the Class by smiting them with his lispeth and making them partake of

manifold reports upon famous composers.Yea, even giants knowneth as seniors invaded the sanctitude of the Class' very ranks, they could

look to even the shortest amongst them to placate their savage souls.

But yea, the Class had the knowledge to combateth all obstacles put in front of them. For their

technology had yielded the spitwad, with which they smited not only Martin, but lo themselves. Andit is upon this civil war that the Greek domination of our class gaveth over to Mormon influence, in

our Freshman era—for one generation passeth away, and another generation cometh.

The Second Epoch or An Epistle of

Broadbent

And so it came to pass that the Class of '71 fell out of favor with Wilfred, and he spake harshlyunto them saying, "For your transgressions, wherin you have partaken of knowledge, I shall causeyou to speak different languages, and not be able to understandeth each other. And this did happen. For he senteth down from a high notion his firmament of the North Attic Pez, and Unzicker, and Cur-tin, and they did teach the sinners different tongues, and to this day they understandeth each other

not.

David the King, Thomas the Fast, and Eric the Holshover then joined the ranks of the Class. Andso it came to passes. While the entire female population concentrated on these three wise men, the

male population concentrated on the odd art of de-pantsing Timothy and Markus. And hence thesetwo camps, strangely divided, were re-united in the third epoch of the Class, where Mormen gave into

Shinto-Taoists.

The Third Epoch or An Epistle of

Fung

And so Wilfred and his helper Robert sent their only son Anthony down to Uni, to helpeth the

Class repent of their sins, even knowing he would later be crucified by the very onew he tried to help.

And it came topass that yet another god descended from the North Attic, and his name was Cornell.

And Cornell endeavoredeth to leadeth his people out from the depths of the Valley into the Light

102

of Good Music. And on top of Mount Sion he received the 10 commandments of good music, andpreached them to the Class, and they did sing better.

During this time vandals beseiged the land, breaking pipes in the sanctity of the locker room, andutilizing weapons supplied by a false idol, John Baal. Those hayhands related Indian Myths and par-

tooketh in an odd type of football wherein the object was not the ball but was the person.

And Anthony saw all those things, and saw that they were bad and so seeking the aid of Ella,

did create a flood of homework. And the homework came down for 170 days and 170 nights, and noah-one was forewarned. And whence cometh the in-service days, a rainbow appearedeth, reminding the

people of the Fung epoch that there would be more homework in the years of Weisel.

The Gospel according to

Weizowsky

O, it then came to passskuva that Fungowlese went rampant ovowre the landuh. Yow, evan posto-

wrez for Big Showe had the langwaje on itskuva.

And Anthony and his counselors saw this, and wondered from whence and for what this scourgehad cometh. Ergo, his counselors submitted the Class to tests, to make a-certain that yey, indeed,

sanity still remaineth. The PSAT, ACT, and SAT cameth and passed away, and indeed sanity had left,

but the people were not in a position to careth.

And upon these feelings of remorse cameth a most singular event. Chucky-Pob did cometh andtaught the Class how to keep power under control. He did this with great liscense, and taughteth the

Class how to driveth with knees, backeth into lightposts, and knocketh bumpers.Under the ausipices of Cornell the Class did undertaketh in this, their fourth year, the Mikado.

And it came to pass that an exceeding number were cast for it, and they keepeth many momentos of

it; and therefore, there is a time to keep, and a time to cast away! And therein the oddysey of the Class of '71 entereth its last year.

The Revelations of

Lazarus

And the Class, in the last year of its existence, were in need of a great leader. Along the RiverBoneyard they found a tomb, and the dead man inside was the only one for the task. Ergo, Anthonyspake unto the cadavre, saying, "Lazarus, come forth." And he cameth. And he was utter Lazarus, head to foot.

And this man had a hard lot of sheep to lead. Unlike the accustomed these sheep said not Bah,but Oink! But this all seemeth to be grst to Lazarus' mill.

But Lazarus and mortal alike were subject to the brutal homework floods of Tibbetts and Leppert. And so the second catechism came to pass. And when it passed, the riots of the Class were placated,

the eternal question of whether to haveth operretta or broadway production were solved, when all

were clear, the Class of '71 learned that yea, indeed there is more than one road to Tipperary.

The Chronicles end here

And if any man shall taketh away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall takethaway his part out of the book of life. (Revelation 22.119)
