What do stone rejectors look like?
Take a look at many Bridgestone radials and you’ll see small, raised platforms evenly spaced along the floor of some tread grooves. Those are the stone rejectors. They’re small, but they play a big role in retreadability.
What’s their job?
To prevent stones from getting lodged in the grooves, then being driven through the undertread and belt layer.
The stone rejector platforms use extra rubber material to help keep stones from forcing their way through to the undertread.
What happens if stones reach the undertread?
If the stones pierce the undertread and get to the belt layer, they could harm the belts, exposing them to rust. This affects retreadability because it could easily destroy your casing.
Why are they called “rejectors”?
They’re called rejectors because that’s what they do; they help prevent stones from getting lodged in the bottom of the grooves, where they could get stuck and damage the belts.
And that’s all to prevent stone drilling?
Stone rejector platforms are just one innovation used in preventing stone drill-ing. To discourage stones from getting wedged in the first place, Bridgestone pays a lot of attention to the depth, shape and width of its grooves. They even consider on a case-by-case basis whether a groove wall should be sharply angled or gently rounded.

WINTER TYRE READY FOR ICE & SNOW?
PRODUCTION FROM MARCH TO NOVEMBER
11
What Are Winter Tyres?
Enhanced performance – the technology in a winter tyre means it performs
better when the temperature drops below 7° celcius
Better grip – the special compound used in a winter tyre means it remains
softer in low temperatures offering more grip, better braking, traction and handling
Greater control and safety – the tread design of a winter tyre has been spe-
cially created to offer better grip and traction in the snow
Speed rating – cold weather tyres have a lower speed rating than a summer tyre due to the compound they are made from.
Please be aware that your driving will not be compromised as even an H rated tyre has a maximum speed of 131mph

Winter Tyre Technology
So, what makes winter tyres stand out from the summer and all-season variety? How do they carry on working so well in freezing conditions?
Those questions are not only good ones, but they are also valid and at this time of year they are also asked quite frequently by motorists who ring or email our team of experts.
Let’s take it one question at a time.
What Makes A Winter Tyre Different:
A casual glance at a winter tyre will not tell you too much about it. It is black, it is round and it is fitted to a car. So far there is nothing different from the summer variety.
Look closer though and you will start to notice some innovative – and dare we say it – interesting things that help to set this tyre apart. The average tread design and depth is moulded to be deeper and more suited to dealing with the problem of snow and ice.
Down the edge of the tread block of a typical winter tyre you will see a series of small incisions in the tyre. These are called sipes and they provide the vehicle with extra traction. They manage this by creating small “bites” into the surface of the snow.
Thanks to the design, the depth of the tread and the sipes, winter tyres are also far better at displacing the snow that you are driving on. When a summer tyre drives over loose snow it is far more likely going to compact it. This then makes that section of road solid and therefore extremely slippery.
How A Winter Tyre Carries On Working In Freezing Conditions:
One of the major issues with driving around on summer tyres in the winter is that once the outside temperature plummets to 7°C or less, the rubber compound of your summer tyre will begin to solidify. The rubber compound used to produce a win-ter tyre contains a higher percentage of natural rubber. The use of this in the compound means that it can retain its elastici-ty in lower temperatures.
Of course the major benefit of this is that the tread design remains supple allowing the tyre to flex itself to the contours of the road surface – therefore creating the friction that helps you to remain in control of your vehicle. Without this flexibility the friction is not there. Without the friction, you lose control and the last thing you want when driving in freezing conditions is to lose control of your vehicle.
Thanks to the rubber compound, it is safe to say that no summer tyre out there can beat a winter tyre when it comes to grip whilst driving on ice, snow or slush. On average, if a vehicle is fitted with winter tyres, it will manage to come to a complete stop on a snow covered road after 35metres, whereas a vehicle that is fitted with normal tyres will need an extra 8 metres before it comes to a stop - that is another two car lengths.

All tyre importers know themselves’ margin, but some of them is
curious about how much does their supplier get. Well, usually 3%-
5% is the profit.
Sales in a trading company usually get their salary and 15%-20%
of each order margin, while trading company sales can get 0.1%
of all goods amount.
For example, PCR tyre value
is 50,000$ each HQ on aver-
age, TBR 60,000$ and OTR
80,000. So the margin of a
PCR FIRST quotation if
around 1800$, TBR 2500$
and OTR 3000$. Their bot-
tom limit is around 1300 for PCR, 1500TBR and 1600 OTR. The
margin is base on TT payment, 30% deposit and balance against
BL copy. If you pay 100% in advance, 800$ margin could be gen-
erally acceptable. But if you do LC, 300USD add.
Then how to bargain is most effective?
Most seller and buyer does not show their target price at first. So
when offer is received, the buy will first shout out “it’s too expen-
sive!” and then they check the price. And the seller will introduce
about their products quality and offer some discount. Now, the im-
porter could say it is long time and large volume, and most seller
could be moved by the beautiful expecting, and offer further dis-

count. When buyer feel that is the final price, he would say they re-
ceived other suppliers quotation and their price always lower than
yours. (We do not trust them totally, why they waste their time on
us and do not buy from another supplier?) But this way usually
works, and supplier on a dilemma. When you feel the mode from
the supplier email, their price should be the lowest.
But there is one way to get price beyond their limit, psychological-
ly. When order is closed, and the buyer promised to pay, on-hold.
Now the supplier is released, right.? This is a good time to bargain
for last time, but slightly, usually 1%. They could easily surrender
under this situation. Then is order could be rib. No gross margin
but they accept for the long-term cooperation.
How the buyers bargain?
Your price is too high.
I said your price is high.
We have no margin for this price.
Your price high out by 20%.
Now the price decrease a lot.
I am honest( O, pls, few is honest when they talk price and affairs.)
