Susan Kare is invented many of the type faces and designs for icons for the Apple Macintosh in the 1980s.She graduated from New York university with a PhD in fine arts and found a curatorial job in The museum of fine art San Francisco. During her time working on the project in her garage, she recieved a call from her highschool friend, Andy Helrtfeld, offering her a job to redesign the typeface for the Mac OS (operating system) at a time digital typefaces were monospaced meaning that the narrow I and a broad M both had the same spacing as with every other letter.

Susan sketched her designs on graph paper. Each minature square would represent a pixel.

This gave her sketchbook a neat and well illustrated appearance. Her funky designs told people not to fear technology. It is a fun interface anyone shoud feel comfortable to use.
