Romania Romania After landing in Bucharest, we took a bus to an old tech school in Ploiesti. After entering the facility which was enclosed by a barbed wire fence we settled into our new home. The boys stayed on the floor of the old gymnasium which actually wasn’t bad. If there were only toilette seats… But hey, at least we had toilettes. The girls just got the hole, or squatty potty, as it was so accurately named. They managed to snatch the dorm rooms which turned out to be nothing short of sketchy. I mean besides the swastikas and graffiti on the wall…it was a nice place. haha

Our project Our project

Apartment housing The Work site

Our project took place in the countryside of Ojara about a 45 bus ride from home sweet home. This apartment would hold about 6 families, and I mean, Families. We did a lot of work that week, but there was still much to be done when we left…I wonder what it looks like now…

My work team Brussels Team

Romania was an amazing experience for everyone there. Oddly enough, no one wanted to leave! We all got so close in just one week. Kids from all over Europe go each year to serve in places like Romania, Slovakia, and Bulgaria. I

was lucky enough to be a part of it.
