Detailed Description and Reason for Proposed Change(s):

PUCT Substantive Rule 25.493 (e) states that ERCOT “shall develop procedures to facilitate the expeditious transfer of large numbers of customers from one REP to another.”

Add an Acquisition Indicator AQ to the BGN07 of various TX SET Transactions required in order to support the Acquisition Transfer Process. This new code will represent the transfer of ESI IDs from one CR to another CR for circumstances outlined in Protocol 15.1.3.2.

o This data element is optional based upon the condition in which the initiating transaction being submitted is for the Acquisition Transfer Process

o Minimum and maximum character length is two (2)o Transactions affected are:

(Customer Name) will be populated with ‘ACQUISITION TRANSFER CUSTOMER’ when the BGN07 = AQ for the 814_03. The TDSP will echo back the same Customer Name in the 814_04 and in turn will be used to populate the 814_14

o Transactions affected are: 814_03, 814_04

Update the TX SET Guide to show that the PER~IC Administrative Communications Contact (Contact Name/Number) will be populated with ‘ACQUISITION TRANSFER CUSTOMER’ when the BGN07 = AQ

ERCOT will default the REF02 = ‘N’ because the information will not be available at the time the 814_03 Acquisition Transfer transaction is created.

o The TDSP will not change the Special Needs indicator in their system based on what is received in the 814_03 when the BGN07 = AQ

o If the TDSP has the ESI ID flagged as Special Needs ‘Y’ “Special Needs are Required” prior to receiving the 814_03 Acquisition Transfer transaction, the TDSP will populate the 814_04 REF02 with ‘Y’ for the REF~SU

o Transactions affected are: 814_03, 814_04

o ERCOT will transfer the data populated in the 814_04 to the 814_14 Update the TX SET Guides to show that in the event of a Acquisition Transfer the N1~BT Name
