From the Head Teacher - Ms. Sue Hill Dear Parents, ‘Creativity is intelligence having fun!’ (Albert Einstein) This Thursday, we all had fun being very creative during our science day. Children were busy setting hypotheses, testing their theories, collating results and then using their scientific knowledge when concluding. The school was truly filled with awe and wonder! In addition to classroom experiments, investigations took place in corridors, the foyer, sports hall and music room – everywhere you looked, our little scientists were busy questioning and searching for answers.

Parents were invited in to school at 2pm to listen to some of the conclusions children had reached and to find out about our learning. Thank you to all parents for immersing themselves in the investigations, especially those who tried out the umbrellas made by Year 1 children! And, of course, thank you to Mr John for organising our spectacular second TX Science Day. Another very exciting event this week was the sleepover in Year 3. This is the first overnight experience

we provide for our children. The children arrived at school Thursday evening with their bags packed ready

for an evening of games, swimming, pizza and DVD. I was trusted with the important job of judging the

Best Dressed Teddy Bear competition just before the children snuggled down to a good night’s sleep. It

was lovely to see them all at breakfast this morning and to hear their stories about what happens at

school over night!

Year 3 Sleepover

Last night, all of Year 3 stayed at school overnight for much fun and games. Pucca: I loved sleeping in the hall with all my friends. I wish we could do it every day. Jeorgia: I was a bit nervous when I climbed the climbing wall in the Soft Play Room because it was so high but I knew there was something soft on the ground to protect me if I fell. I reached the top and I felt relieved and proud of myself. Mathilde: My teddy bear was so huge that I could lie down on top of it. It was almost the same height as me! Quynh An: We had an amazing time having a water balloon fight. It was exciting and surprising. Dang Nguyen: My favourite part was having fun playing dodgeball. Po: I liked playing in the soft play room. Thao My: I loved having delicious pizza for tea. Dishan: I liked playing fun games in the swimming pool. William: The film we watched called Bedknobs and Broomsticks was very funny.

Healthy Snacks!

Many people consider healthy food as boring however, it is delicious and nutritious! Did you know that healthy food provides lots of essential vitamins which play important roles to keep your body healthy? Some of the vitamins and fibre are, Vitamin A, B, C, E...etc. The easiest and simplest way to get vitamins are from healthy food especially fruit - which you eat everyday!

Healthy food isn’t always as disgusting as you think. There are some foods that may look and taste delicious but aren’t healthy for you. For example fast food. Healthy food can provide much more nutrition than fried food. Here are some of the healthy foods you should try… Pineapple & Pistachio, Cottage cheese & Apples, Edamame, (green pod beans) Fresh vegetables with dressing...etc. Introduce your friends and family to an exciting world of fruits and vegetables. However the proper way to a healthy life is to eat a balanced meal. A good way to help you remember a balanced meal, is to have a food pyramid or a pie chart at home to show how much you need to eat from each food group. You could also check how healthy you are when you go on apps such as MyFitnessPal and record what you are eating (ask the Year 6’s about this if you want to know more!) Invite your friends over and make a healthy snack which is not only fun but appetizing as well!

Keep calm and stay healthy! Chenny Year 6

Chuc Mung Nam Moi! After a half term’s break, the blog is back this week, and what an exciting week we have had. Thursday saw two major events; throughout the day the children were engaged in various science activities. It was great to see so many mums, grandparents and friends come along to take part in the experiments and investigations. After school the children in Year 3 went home at usual, but at 6.00pm they were back for evening of fun, food and films before sleeping over in the sports hall. What a great evening, and thank you to all the teach-ers and teaching assistants who gave up their time to make this event so successful. On my blog (ianbattersby.blogspot.com) this

week you will find the following posts:

Holiday Programmes

I would like to offer children in MP3 the

opportunity to participate in an acting

examination. The London Academy of

Music and Dramatic Art is a leading

British drama school. The qualifications it

offers are similar to the ABRSM awards

of the Royal Schools of Music. The exam will be held at AP2 campus on Monday 8th June.

A qualified LAMDA examiner will fly out from London to conduct the examinations.

This is a wonderful chance not only for children who enjoy performing on stage in productions, but also for those who want to improve their skills in teamwork, communication and public speaking. Acting allows children to develop their confidence and creativity. Should your child go on to AP2, and wish to advance to further LAMDA awards, this will be possible. Requirements

The entry level exam costs 1,150,000 VND Your child would need to perform a monologue from a published script or screenplay lasting 1-2 minutes,

and then answer some questions about their chosen piece Your child would need to commit to attending my LAMDA club as their Term 3 club choice, which will be on

Thursdays at 2.30pm. I will provide them with some coaching leading up to the exam, including advice on choice of material

Please email me at [email protected] if you would like your child to be entered, or if you have any questions. The deadline for entry is next week. Mr Richard Information Literacy Teacher
