HOW PLANTS GROW?

TWO PHASES IN THE LIFE CYCLE OF A PLANT

1. VEGETATIVE STAGE- includes the growth of

roots, stem and leaves.

2. REPRODUCTIVE STAGE-the development of

flowers, fruits and seeds takes place.

Three essential condition for germination

Amount of moisture needed to soften the

seed coat and to help in the circulation of food which the seed contains.

Oxygen- which when moisture is absorbed, oxygen takes in and carbon dioxide is given off by the seed.

Warmth and air in the soil which are needed to germinate seeds.

DEVELOPMENT OF SEED

for production of seed. It is made up of organs like sepals, stamens, pistil, petals and accessory organ for production.
