July 11th, 2010 Christ Church will be hosting another great event. The first was a Sugaring Off lunch at the Cabane a Sucre, Contantine, where families from around this area and who are loosely associated to the church were invited for a great meal. A tour of the animal farm and horse and buggy rides were enjoyed by all.

July 11th This next event is a Grandparents picnic also hosted by our Church, where grandparents can come with their grandchildren ( or adopted grandkids for the day ) or come on your own if you wish, to enjoy good picnic fare, games and prizes for all. It will be held rain or shine at the church, July the 11th, 11:15 for celebration in church and 12:30 for the picnic. Please call 450-473-4784 or 450-623-8205 to reserve yours and your families place.

Craft Corner is on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. Come and join us for a cup of coffee or tea, and either make something of your own, or learn a new craft. There are lots of materials to work with and we are a friendly warm group who would certainly welcome newcomers. Try us out!

We work with young children (0-5 years old) and their families, and offer Discipline courses and Stimulation Workshops. The Stimulation Workshops are for 3-5 year olds who can benefit from weekly 2-hour classes in a small setting. Maximum of 8 children and 2 educators. Fine and gross motor skills are practiced, as well as language stimulation, social skills, etc. We do an evaulation during the first four weeks, and the final four weeks of the 14 week program and the parents are able to follow their child's progress.

The Discipline courses are offered to the parents, while the children are babysat in the next room. This runs for ten weeks and there is plenty of room for an exchange of ideas and tips.

For our members, we will have four Wednesday playdates during the summer: July 14, August 11, August 18. These are to be held on "fine weather days" only, in the backyard from 12:00-2:00, lunch available! Please ensure that you bring bathing suits, sunscreen, towels and hats. Parents must stay with the children.

On August 25th we will have the annual corn roast for our members with food, fun, and surprises!

Aug 2-6At Peoples Church we know that "the joy of the Lord is our strength" and we experience joy as we celebrate Jesus in our worship songs and messages. We are therefore calling all Two Mountains kids to come and share the adventure with us at Vacation Bible School this summer. The theme is "High Seas Expedition: All Hands on Deck." You'll meet new friends, do amazing crafts, play wild games, eat lip smacking snacks, have incredible music and hear swashbuckling bible adventures. In orther words, you'll have lots of fun! Come and join us August 2nd to 6th from 9:15 to 12:15 it’s free and for kids aged 4 to 12. I've seen a few parents who enjoyed staying as well to join in with the fun. We are also having our annual corn roast on August 21st where we have corn, hot dogs and hambugers as well as a sing-a-long and games. Come and join us. And don't forget everyone is welcome at our church service Sunday at 10:30 and bible study Wednesday at 7:30.

A team of dedicated musicians is currently working towards the creation of a non-profit youth band (grade 6 to Sec V age group) in the Deux Montagnes MRC Region. This service is offered to anyone in need of a little extra help recovering from an accident, illness, pregnancy, handicapped, surgery or for senior citizens on short or long term disabilities.

Carrefour Peri-Naissance--Fitness with baby: Another course offered is “Je Bouge avec bébé” (getting back into shape with baby), which is based upon the fitness program Jeep from Kino-Quebec. This program uses children’s songs and music as accompaniment for your exercises. Our teacher is highly qualified. Prices for 10 classes is 72$ for members and 82$ for non- members.

The café- rencontres will be the 3rd Wednesday of the month (but in French).

Carrefour Peri-NaissanceBreastfeeding SupportOn the first Wednesday morning of the month, I will be offering an info night about breastfeeding. This is a very detailed course and only deals with breastfeeding. I can give out as much of the information in English as I can and my DVD is bilingual. The cost is still 10$ and it is possible to register in advance. We start at 9:30 am and finish before 11:00 am.

Carrefour Peri-NaissanceHelp at home: If you’re looking for a helping hand around the house, we have a service just for you. “Les Relevailles” is a service that new moms can use to help them get back into the rhythm of things. Whether it is helping out with the washing or cooking, taking care of baby or even more specific information on breastfeeding support, we

can help. For a home visit, make sure to call and reserve your place early! Prices vary from 6$- 11$ per hour depending on your revenue.

We are basically a support group for people who wish to lose weight. We do not follow any specific diets but discuss different healthy ways we can lose.

Guides/Cadets

Girl Guides of Canada – Guides du Canada is the leadership organization for girls and women in Canada, with 90,000 Members across the country. Guiding is bold, fun, energetic and empowers girls and women to face challenges with confidence.

Guides welcome girls and women to join and be a part of the following groups:

o Sparks – ages 5 and 6o Brownies – ages 7 and 8

o Guides – ages 9 to 11o Pathfinders – ages 12 to 14o Rangers – ages 15 to 17+o Adults – as leaders, mentors,

team members and more

Each of these groups offer the best of what Guiding is today – dynamic programs, choice, and leadership opportunities

What We OfferFor girls, Guiding is an accepting environment with diverse and exciting programs and activities that offer the chance to discover new interests learn valuable leadership skills and make lasting friendships. Guiding gives girls the tools and resources they need to achieve greatness.

For women, Guiding is a chance to make a difference in the lives of girls and young women. It’s a place for personal growth, mentoring and travel opportunities.

What We Do Guiding offers a variety of activities for today’s girls – from sports, camping and science to eco-activities, fashion design and community projects. Guiding has something for everyone.

The Young Advocate’s Fund encourages girls to become active members of their community and the wider world by offering them the chance to develop leadership and advocacy skills and assisting them in developing and implementing social change projects.

Cadets is a federally-sponsored program for young Canadians ages 12 to 18 who are interested in participating in a variety of challenging and rewarding activities, and learning more about the Canadian Forces.Cadets are encouraged to become active, responsible members of their communities. They learn valuable life and work skills like teamwork, leadership, and citizenship. Cadets also reap the personal benefits of increased self-confidence and physical fitness, learning how to take initiative, and how to make decisions. Cadets make valuable contributions to Canadian society on a daily basis in terms of environmental, citizenship and community activities.
