Alex Louisa is a self-taught artist from Brisbane, Australia. Once completely obsessed with creating artworks only with ink and coloured

pencil, she is currently exploring and enjoying the move from ‘drawer’ to ‘painter,’ and wondering why on earth it took her so long to pick up a paintbrush.

In most of her works, Alex likes to try to depict an animal’s individual personality - putting a bit of a spin on a realistically-rendered creature, pairing it with graphic

elements, punchy lighting and a patterned background. You might also notice that she is somewhat fond of drawing wrens. It’s unavoidable really, as they bounce

along her studio windowsill all day, driving her to distraction.

She is, however, finding people and figures ever more intriguing, and is currently working on a series surrounding one particular character and her growing obsession with pocketwatches and time. Alex is looking forward to plenty of painting in the coming months, as she maps out this

girl’s story, much of which will be on a larger scale than she has been used to previously.

Her german shepherd Shadow is also happy she’s started painting, as paintbrushes taste remarkably like sticks!

Bec Winnel is inspired by all that is physically and emotionally beautiful... A person, a conversation, a gesture, polar opposites to societies inhumanities and disrespect

for the earth we live on. Reclusing to her dreamy artworld, she manifests delicate, detailed and dreamy feminine portraits, habitually amidst elements of nature. She finds solace

in making art and hopes that positive emotions are felt by the viewers of her pieces.

Bec works by building layer upon layer of mixed mediums including acrylic, pastel, pencil, ink, pens, makeup, and anything she finds. Bec is a self taught artist, originally from rural NSW

and presently living in Melbourne. She has participated in many group shows across Australia and the United States in the past four years. In 2010, her entry in the

Design a Spark competition won her a brand new Holden Barina Spark. Whilst being prolific with personal work, illustration commissions,

an Element Eden Advocate and full time graphic design, her long awaited goal is her first solo show.
