Shafts to fit ANY golfer ...

Page 2: TWGT Shafts 2010

• S2S White graphite shafts are designed for golfers with a 1.5/1.5/1.5 to 2/2/2 rating of the swing characteristics of Transition/Tempo/Release

• The S2S White graphite shafts are designed to follow up on the zT Series models to be TWGT’s most versatile shaft for average golfer swing types. Whenever clubmakers encounter a golfer with a 1.5 to 2 rating for the transition, tempo, release and golfer strength which indicates some swing ability but not a strong or powerful swing, the S2S White graphite shafts will stand as an outstanding match for custom fitting such golfers

• S2S White shafts for woods and irons are a re-design of the former zT Series wood and iron shafts. The S2S White Hybrid shafts represent a re-design of the former GI-335 lightweight hybrid shafts

• S2S Ruby Lite graphite shafts are designed for golfers with a 1/1/1 to 1.5/1.5/1.5 rating of the swing characteristics of Transition/ Tempo/Release

• S2S Ruby Lite for woods, irons and wedges are a re-design of the former 730CL shafts. The new S2S Ruby Lite shafts are more butt, center and tip flexible than the former 730CL shafts to become a more effective fitting match for golfers with slower swing speeds

• The S2S Ruby Lite shafts are designed in discrete, separate AA (L) and A flex shafts in the woods and the iron shafts to allow for more specific flex differences in the two separate AA and A flex versions. The S2S Ruby Lite wedge shaft remains an A/AA (L) combination flex shaft, for which the two separate flexes are created by different tip trimming amounts

s2s shaft to swing fitting systemneW

Tom Wishon Golf Technology is pleased to introduce our proprietary new S2S Shaft to Swing Fitting System, the first and only shaft design and shaft fitting system based completely on matching golfer swing characteristics to the right overall shaft design.

S2S is the acronym for “Shaft to Swing”. S2S represents the advanced approach TWGT has taken in the design of our proprietary shaft models to create a fitting system which ensures the best shaft design for each golfer’s swing characteristics.

After many hours of research and study of the bend profile measurements of more than a thousand shafts combined with our extensive knowledge of golfer swing to shaft performance, we have completely re-designed our original TWGT shaft models to more accurately match the differences in golfer’s swing motions.

All the shaft models and flexes within TWGT’s new S2S Fitting System are keyed to a color system for easy fitting reference based on the swing motions and golfer types they are designed to fit.

• S2S Gold Plus High Flight graphite shafts are for golfers with a 2/2/2 to 2.5/2.5/2 swing rating who desire a higher trajectory from the shaft. S2S Gold Tour Flight graphite shafts are for golfers with a 2/2/2.5 to 2.5/2.5/3 swing rating who desire a lower, more boring trajectory from the shaft

• S2S Gold Plus High Flight are a re-design of the former InterFlexx High Flight, while the S2S Gold Tour Flight represent a re-design of the former InterFlexx Mid/Low Flight shafts. The S2S Gold Hybrid Shafts are a re-design of the former

Gold 85 R Flex iron shafts are the same design as the former TourFlight 85 R Flex iron model

• S2S Black graphite shafts are designed for golfers with a 2.5/2.5/2.5 to 3/3/3 rating of the swing characteristics of Transition/Tempo/Release.

• S2S Black shafts for woods are designed in 65g and 85g versions and are the former ProFlightEXP 65 and 85 shafts with no design changes because the ProFlight EXP were among the first shafts designed by TWGT through the initial S2S research. No changes were needed to incorporate these shafts within the S2S Shaft Fitting System.

• S2S Black 85 S flex iron shafts are the former Tour Flight 85 S flex shafts with no design changes

• The new S2S Blue are the lightest wood shafts in the S2S Fitting System. S2S Blue 45 is a re-design of the former Series 7-FL-45 while the S2S Blue 55 is a re-design of the former Series 7-SUL-55

• The S2S Blue 45 shafts are designed for golfers with a 1.5/1.5/1.5 to 2/2/2 rating who need the lightest total weight possible, while the S2S Blue 55 shafts are designed for golfers with a 2/2/2 to 2.5/2.5/2.5 rating of the swing characteristics of Transition/Tempo/Release

Shaft to Swing Fitting System to Match Shaft Design to Golfer Swing Characteristics

Step 1: Measure the Clubhead Speed of the Golfer. Driver/3-Wood speed for wood shaft fitting and 5- or 6-iron speed for iron shaft fitting.

Step 2: Evaluate the Golfer’s Downswing Transition as Smooth (1), Average (2), or Forceful (3).

Step 3: Evaluate the Golfer’s Downswing Tempo/Acceleration as Smooth (1), Average (2), or Aggressive (3).

Step 4: Observe the Point in the Downswing When the Golfer Unhinges the Wrist-Cock Angle as Early (1), Midway (2), or Late (3).

Step 5: Evaluate the Golfer’s Physical Strength as Below Average (1), Average (2), or Well Above Average (3).

Step 6: Use the chart on page 63 to select a custom designed S2S designed shaft that best matches the golfer’s Swing Speed, Transition, Tempo, Release and Strength.

All S2S Shaft to Swing Fitting System custom designed graphite shafts are produced with clear descriptions of each shaft’s Weight, Swing Speed Range, Transition, Tempo, Release and Strength to guide you custom shaft fitting decisions.

• S2S Gold Plus High Flight replaces InterFlexx High in a new re-design for golfers with 1.5 to 2.5 Transition and Tempo, 1.5 to 2 Release and 2 Strength for swing ratings

• S2S Gold Tour Flight replaces InterFlexx Mid/low in a new re-design for golfers with 1.5 to 2.5 Transition and Tempo, 2 to 3 Release and 2 to 2.5 Strength for swing ratings

• Metal Coated Hexcel® Composite is wrapped at specific locations on the S2S Gold Plus and S2S Gold Tour designs to create the difference in launch angle while keeping the butt to center stiffness the same on both models

• S2S Gold Plus High Difference from the Former InterFlexx High:

the new S2S Gold Plus High Flight are similar to the interFlexx High Flight with the main difference being a more specific separation between each of the letter flex versions

• S2S Tour Difference from the Former InterFlexx Mid/low:

the new S2S Gold tour Flight has the same exact butt stiffness design per each flex as the S2S Gold Plus High Flight, but the tour Flight tip section stiffness is substantially stiffer than the High Flight tip section for lower trajectory. Flex to flex, the S2S Gold tour is more specifically spaced apart over the full length of the shaft than the former interFlexx mid Low

S2S Gold Plus High Flight and S2S Gold Tour Flight Offer Clubmakers the Same Butt Stiffness Profile with High and Mid/low Flight Trajectory Options for Fitting

about

Compared to all other golf equipment companies, Tom Wishon Golf Technology is a very different company.

We’re not like any of the companies whose golf clubs you see selling in standard form, off the rack, in retail golf stores, pro shops and over the internet. We believe all golf clubs should be custom fit to match each one of the 13 different custom fitting specifications to each golfer’s unique combination of size, strength, athletic ability and swing characteristics.

We’re also not like any of the companies who sell components. We develop and design every one of our original clubhead, shaft and grip models. From our vast experience in golf club R&D, we possess a far deeper understanding of golf club and fitting performance which we openly share with clubmakers. We are also the only company actively promoting the benefits of custom fitting to consumer golfers.

TWGT is committed to creating the highest performing, most innovative clubhead, shaft, and grip designs, backed by the best technical information in the golf industry, to support custom clubmakers who are committed to offering their golfers the very best in professionally custom fit golf clubs.

TWGT is proud of our skills and knowledge in golf equipment design and clubfitting technology which continues to achieve a high level of respect in the world golf industry.

• More than 60 different golf equipment and golf club technology firsts in clubhead design, shaft design, and clubfitting technology.

• The only designer from the custom clubmaking industry whose original clubhead designs have been used to win on the PGA Tour, Champions Tour and in Ryder Cup competition.

• Author of 9 books and hundreds of magazine articles about golf equipment technology and professional clubfitting. Two of our books have won the prestigious “Golf Book of the Year” award from the ING, the golf industry’s largest association of golf media professionals.

• Advisor in golf equipment and clubfitting technology for the professional training programs for numerous PGA organizations

around the world. When some of the major PGA’s in the world want their member professionals to know the truth about golf equipment and clubfitting, they come to TWGT.

• TWGT remains the only supplier of clubheads, shafts and grips to clubmakers who continues to make the effort to promote the benefits of professional clubfitting to consumer golfers. We support custom clubmakers to give them tools to grow their businesses more than any other company.

With the release of our books, The Search for the Perfect Golf Club, The Search for the Perfect Driver, The Right Sticks, and 12 Myths That Could Wreck Your Golf Game, TWGT continues to make golfers aware of the facts of life about their golf clubs – that professionally custom fit golf clubs are the only way any golfer can hope to play to the best of their ability. Clubmakers who use these books to educate their golfers are experiencing an increase in their fitting business.

If you’re not working with TWGT as your clubmaking supplier and clubfitting advisor, you’re missing an opportunity to increase your business by delivering the best performing golf clubs to golfers.

as we said, tWGt is a very different golf company.

“Dear Tom and TWGT Staff, Many thanks for your great customer service and your great products. The people and products of TWGT never ceases to amaze.”

– Mark Sparks, [email protected]

“I recently was fitted for a set of 770CFE irons. I found the nearest company was Two Rivers Golf near Sacramento, Calif. Anyway, I love the clubs and getting fit by professionals is a much smarter way to buy clubs. Scott and Jim at Two Rivers Golf made the experience for me and my friend Dennis worthwhile. We drove from Utah to Sacramento just for the experience. The quality of the Wishon brand is awesome. We have the clubs, bag, hats and so we will be walking/playing advertisements for your great product.

Oh by the way, loved reading your book, ‘The Search for the Perfect Golf Club’”.

– Sincerely, Ray

“Tom Wishon is one of the golf industry’s most prolific designers. In the past two decades, he’s fashioned literally hundreds of head designs during stints at Golfsmith and Dynacraft. Firms like these made their mark selling components—heads, shafts and grips—to custom club makers and some club maker wannabes.

These days Wishon runs his own company, Tom Wishon Golf Technology (TWGT). His latest iron head, 560MC Forged Carbon Steel, is a forged cavity back with built-in game-improvement properties. Wishon is proud as a papa because, he says, it is the first forged carbon steel iron with the entire back cavity made by CNC machining. Most forged cavity back irons squeeze carbon steel out of the way to form a cavity. But Wishon mills the back of the head to produce a deeper cavity with more weight around it. The payoff is a higher moment of inertia or, in lay terms, a better result for off-center hits. It’s a clever way to deliver a more forgiving forged iron.”
