We, the people of St. Clare Catholic Parish, In the Diocese of Belleville, are called by God
in baptism to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Centered in the Eucharist, and strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we strive to live
the Gospel and further the reign of God. We do this by creating a vibrant faith
community, by actively promoting justice and evangelization, and by using our gifts in the service of God’s people, to give God
glory and reverence all of Creation.
Most Reverend Edward K. Braxton Bishop of Belleville

Happy Anniversary! I like how our Oktoberfest celebration is always held on the weekend closest to the anniversary of the dedication of our of our new church, which was on September 30, 2007. For those who are new around St. Clare, this marks our 12th year of being in this beautiful church and we couldn’t be more excited about all the great things that have happened at St. Clare during these blessed years as well as those yet to come! The Oktoberfest is not only a great community event for the whole O’Fallon-Shiloh area but it is also a great testimony to all the generous people of St. Clare who give so much of their time and other resources for its success. It is inspiring to me as your pastor to see so many of you pitching in for this important cause. This is our main fundraiser that helps greatly with our debt on the new church. Each donation of time and money truly makes a difference and is so greatly appreciated by your fellow parishioners and me! This week we are happy to have visiting with us two priests, Fr. Aldo and Fr. Baltazar, from our Sister Parish, Our Lord of Esquipulas in Guatemala. They chose to come during the week of Oktoberfest to see this cultural event they have heard a lot about. Please join us for a reception Monday night to hear all about the good things happening in our parish there! God’s Peace to you, Fr. Jim Deiters
