RAISING UP TOMORROW’S LEADERS

IS A BIG JOB! ATTENTION PARENTS: If your 1st through 9th grade

children are not attending Catholic School,

please enroll them in the

ST. JUDE ACADEMY OF

VIRTUOUS LEADERS

“VIRTUE”, as defined at ‘dictionary.com’:

moral excellence; goodness; righteousness

In other words, “doing the right thing.”

Look around… Other than in the home, where are our chil-

dren being taught God’s truth? Where are they being guid-

ed toward Godly moral values? Over the years, the

Church’s role in this effort has been known by many

names: CCD, Religious Education, Faith Formation, Sun-

day School, Catechism, etc.

Today and going forward, our world needs leaders whose

moral compasses point to VIRTUE. These virtues devel-

op best when rooted at an early age. Virtuous leaders are

not born; they’re formed. Where, other than at home and

at church, will our children learn to look at choices through

the eyes of Jesus? The quality of life our grandchildren

and generations to come will inherit depends on today’s

generation of young people basing their decisions on vir-

tues like Faith, Hope, Love, Prudence, Fortitude, Justice

and Temperance.

Grades 1 through 7 will begin in September

Grades 8 and 9 will begin in October

For information on registration, please see our parish web-

site or call:

Grades 1 – 7: Deacon Les @ 561-746-7974, Ext. 234

Grades 8 and 9: Frank Faranda @ 561-746-8805

Our Fall study will begin on Thursday, October 1 in the

Parish Hall after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. This year we will

study Peter: Cornerstone of Catholicism, a fascinating, in-

depth, study series on the life and meaning of St. Peter,

from his first encounter with Jesus to his own crucifixion.

In this 10-week DVD lecture series, Dr. Tim Gray gives a

fresh perspective on the fisherman who Jesus entrusted

with His Church.

Please join us and bring your Bible & a friend. All are wel-

come! The actual class will run from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

For further information, call Pat Piccoli at 561-339-8439

or email her at [email protected]

Adult Bible Study on Wednesdays at

7:00 p.m. beginning on October 7th

Featuring: Fr. Bill Burton’s

“Demystifying the Book of Revelation”

What does the Book of Revelation mean? Does

it have a message for today?

In this 6-part DVD series he refutes myths that

have been perpetuated for centuries.

Fr. Bill explains: ~The genre of Apocalyptic lit-

erature and how to “read” it. ~Jewish sources

like the Book of Daniel, that inspired Revela-

tion’s author. ~The basics: Who wrote Revela-

tion? When? What does the book say? ~What

makes this book so attractive to many? ~The

erroneous “rapturist” interpretation.

There is no study guide to accompany this DVD

based program, so there will no participation fee.

This is a 6-session study. Wednesday evening

7:00 to 8:00 p.m. from October 7th to November

11th. All sessions will take place in the St. Jude

Parish Center. For space allocation purposes,

please contact Deacon Les to register: 561-746-

7974 ext 234 or [email protected]

Devotions to Our Blessed MotherDevotions to Our Blessed MotherDevotions to Our Blessed Mother

R.C.I.A.R.C.I.A.R.C.I.A.

The Blessed Virgin was born to be the Mother of God. From the first moment of

Mary’s immaculate presence in her mother’s womb, our Lady has led us to her Son.

From the cross, Christ commands, “Behold your Mother.” As the Savior’s dying gift

to us, Jesus leads us back to Mary. For we need the maternal closeness of the

Sorrowful Mother to sustain us when overcome by the terrifying trials of life.

Through Mary’s compassionate presence at the cross, that event ~as it recurs in our

lives~ becomes more deeply human, filling us with the courage to face life’s

sufferings, certain in the secure embrace of divine providence. Whenever Mary loves

us, she gives us Jesus. By obeying the Lord in our devout beholding of the Mother of

God, we give Mary the chance to speak her Yes to the “annunciation”
