Types of TV SchedulingInheritance-

Inheritance scheduling is when a programme is scheduled after a popular programme in hope that it inherits some of the audience

Pre-echo-Scheduling a programme before a popular programme in the hope viewers tune in early and catch the end of the programme, like it and tune in next time

Hammocking-Scheduling a programme between two popular programmes so it benefits from both.

Channel Loyalty-Keeping to one channel for a night. In the 1980’s there were only 4 channels; BBC1, BBC2, ITV and Channel 4, audiences were encouraged to stick with one channel however channel loyalty doesn't exist anymore as it is easier to change channels and the range of channels has increased.
