WITF | MAY 2020 TV & RADIO LISTINGS 7* Not available on Passport

Hello again, thank you for reading all the way through this month’s TV Listings Guide. I wanted to take an extra moment to talk about schedule changes. You may have noticed program changes weekday afternoons at the end of April. WITF is continuing to expand the opportunities for distance learning as part of our Learning at Home initiative.

WITF, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, is expanding educational programming in our schedule to serve households with and without internet access. Through May and June, we are adding an additional 15 hours of programming specifically scheduled for middle school and high school students.

You will recognize a good number of these shows scheduled in this block because a majority of the programs are repeats of prime time shows. You will find this collection of programs scheduled Monday to Friday 2pm to 5pm.

To make room for these shows, we have other temporary adjustments in place. The repeat of Amanpour & Company at Noon will be removed. The cooking and how-to shows that normally broadcast 1pm to 3pm will shift up by an hour to Noon to 2pm. The PBS KIDS programming from 3pm to 5pm will be removed from the schedule. Remember, PBS KIDS programming is always available on our second television station WITFK which is available at 33.2 via an antenna, channel 239 on Comcast and channel 465 on FIOS.

Programs within this new block of programming include Nature and NOVA. You’ll also find an encore of the Great American Read from this past fall, along with a replay of Ken Burns’ The Roosevelts: An Intimate History. The schedule for this block is more than I have space to share in this guide. Be sure to visit witf.org/programs for information on the scheduling that you’ll find in this block. There will also be promos indicating what show is scheduled when. Regardless of whether you have teenagers in your household, we hope you appreciate the additional programming in the afternoon to keep you engaged while we all continue to stay home and stay healthy.

These are unprecedented times and we are continually making adjustments to both our radio and television scheduling to accommodate timely updates. I don’t take schedule changes lightly, and this is a fairly large one even though it is temporary. I appreciate your flexibility and understanding while we all navigate these challenges.

Stay safe, stay healthy and stay tuned. We’re all in this together.

Health and safety measures, necessary to stem the pandemic, have disrupted many long-held funeral traditions. We understand what an emotional hardship this is and are helping families navigate through these difficult times.

In order to be able to continue to safely serve families, we have adapted. When meeting in person, we are social distancing. We are also able to make arrangements by phone or video conferencing. Video streaming is available for viewing services online.

The Parthemore Family is committed to serving our community during this challenging time.
