IntroIntro I’ve always been a creative person, but I was

never good at drawing. Once I discovered collage, I never looked back.

The most common questions about collage are about where to get the specialty art papers. At the end of this ebook, there is a list of resources.

Send me photos of you work! I will put them on my website. Here’s your chance to share your creations with the world!

Supplies and PrepSupplies and Prep You will need:

– Specialty/decorative art papers.– Plastic box frame, canvas, or any hard surface.– Scissors, paintbrushes, acrylic matte medium, paper towels,

small container of water, rag or old towel. To prepare for this project, cover a table with newspaper or an old

tablecloth. Wear an apron or old clothing.

surface

Step 1: Prepare the Step 1: Prepare the BackroundBackround

Cut the background papers into squares, or cut it slightly larger than the box frame or canvas.

Apply thin coat of glue to the paper. Place onto surface, smoothing it out with your finger or brush to

remove all the air bubbles! Don’t forget to do the sides unless you plan on framing the piece.

I chose a light colored rice paper with a few small inclusions of green particles.

Step 2: Cut out the FlowersStep 2: Cut out the Flowers After covering the entire

background, cut out your flowers, stems, leaves, and vase. Use different shades of one color, or mix it up and use a variety of colors!

I usually draw the shape on the paper, lightly, with a pencil, before cutting.

Step 3: Begin GluingStep 3: Begin Gluing

Next, glue the stems onto the background. Then, glue on the vase. Next, add the flowers.

Step 4: Add DetailsStep 4: Add Details Continue adding more flowers. Then add the leaves and the middle of the flowers. You can also decorate the vase if you want.

Step 5: Finishing TouchesStep 5: Finishing Touches

After your collage has dried, add a thin coat of water-based polyurethane. I like to use gloss, but matte works too. Mod Podge also works great!

If you used a plastic box frame, replace the cardboard backing so you can hang your artwork on the wall. If you used something else as your canvas, you will need to add a hanger onto the back.

Congratulations, your DONE! Now, wrap your creation and give it as a gift or hang it in your home and enjoy!

But which papers should you buy?? Over the years, I have learned what work best for me by trial and error. But my

favorites are Lokta, Japanese Lace, Mulberry, Thai Mango, and Banana paper.
