Tutorial of Primavera P6

Introduction

Construction project management is a process to manage the construction work professionally to oversee the planning,

design and building with proper supervising by coordinating human and material resources to achieve the objective of

project in term of quality, time, cost and safety as top priority.

Primavera P6 and MS Project are used as a software to computerize all ideas how to start and end the projects supported

by sequence tools so that all work items are connected each other and enable to track it to identify critical path. These

software’s are often practised by planning engineers to organize all related works to be integrated into a grant schedule

which represent a particular project.

In this tutorial, I am going to explore how powerful Primavera P6 v.16.2 to manage small project in Doha, Qatar. This

consists of some topics in order to make it much focus and easier to understand. Some topic will be discussed in this

tutorial are following below:

Download Primavera P6 v.16.2

1. Visit oracle website for downloadable files as address below

https://edelivery.oracle.com

2. Click “Sign In” if you already registered and received valid password to access this website, otherwise you have to

register to have new account.


3. Type “Primavera P6” in the blank field as picture below and select Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio

Management (P6 EPPM). Instead of selecting professional version in the list, I prefer downloading the enterprise

version because this project is planned to be published through website in which it will be discussed in the further

tutorial.

4. Upon selecting the product explained as above, we have to select particular platform either we are using Windows

as operating system in our PC/laptop or Linux, or Solaris.

5. Once we have selected button “Select” as picture above, screen will be display as picture below. Then we continue

by clicking “Continue” button


6. Accept “General Term” as picture below

Then new window will display as picture below, and click “Download” button to download all files using

“Download Manager” or manually.
