4 NIGHTS AT ONE&ONLY CAPE TOWN, PRIVATE PENINSULA TOUR, PRIVATE WINELANDS TOUR
2 NIGHTS AT SINGITA LEBOMBO 3 NIGHTS AT SINGITA BOULDERS 5 NIGHTS AT AZURA RETREAT
You are greeted upon arrival in Cape Town and transferred via private car to One&Only
Cape Town. In the heart of Cape Town’s picturesque Victoria & Alfred Waterfront,
this contemporary urban resort embodies a chic island design and African fl air.
With Gordon Ramsay and Nobu restaurants, One&Only Cape Town blends modern
cooking techniques with traditional African delicacies yielding extraordinary fl avors.
Exquisite rooms with views of the harbor and of Table Mountain offer breathtaking
views. A private tour to the Cape of Good Hope and the Peninsula makes for one of
the most scenic drives in all of Africa. A special wine tour and chocolate tasting in the
neighboring wine region helps complete a romantic few days. Robben Island, the jail
where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, is well worth a visit as it is a great place to learn
more about South Africa’s history.
Leaving scenic Cape Town is never easy, but arriving at Singita Lebombo in Kruger
National Park is a treat as the lodge is set on a hillside with views of the Sweni River and
animals below. In the remote section of Kruger National Park, there is a wide variety
of wildlife. The spa and food are amazing and the wine cellar stocks a number of small
vineyard South African wines. Game viewing is great with frequent sightings of lions
and leopards.
Singita Boulders is only a short fl ight away but the ecosystem in the Sabi Sands is
distinct from Singita Lebombo. Singita Boulders consistently wins awards as one of the
World’s best lodges. The spacious rooms have their own plunge pools with gorgeous
views. Service is impeccable and the game viewing is World famous. There are few
places that combine luxury and game viewing the way Singita Boulders does. This is a
romantic paradise in the South African bush.
It’s only an hour and a half fl ight from Kruger airport to Vilanculos, Mozambique where
it’s a short scenic helicopter ride to Azura Retreat. Azura is the fi rst luxury boutique
resort in Mozambique and is located on a breathtaking stretch of pristine white sand on
Benguerra Island. All the rooms are near the beach and have their own plunge pools.
The views are sensational, butler service is terrifi c, and the spa is top notch. The chef
has an amazing array of fresh seafood at his disposal. Diving, snorkeling, and fi shing
are excellent. This is a great place to truly get away from it all and a perfect spot to
fi nish off a luxurious safari.

Botswana offers the fi nest, authentic wildlife experience in the world. It is comprised largely of the Kalahari Desert, within which lies the Okavango Delta, a wonderful wetland which is one of Africa’s most incredible wildlife and wilderness sanctuaries. This dynamic water world contrasts with the vast salt plains of the Makgadikgadi Pans to the southeast and with an ecosystem driven by different stimuli in the Linyanti region in the north of the country. Just over the border from the Linyanti region is Victoria Falls. A combination of the Okavango Delta, Makgadigadi Pans, Linyanti, and Victoria Falls makes for a truly diverse and memorable trip.
The itinerary begins by fl ying from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls. You are greeted and transferred to Tongabezi which is upstream from Victoria Falls on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River. Tongabezi is a luxury lodge with exquisite rooms. Cruising down the Zambezi River, while watching the sunset and seeing crocodiles and hippos swim past is a terrifi c way to begin a safari. Your fi rst full day in Africa includes a private tour of Victoria Falls followed by a local village tour.
Next, it’s time to fl y to Kings Pool Camp located in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, a vast private concession in the northern part of Botswana. The accommodation is luxurious and the wildlife spectacular, as enormous herds of elephants frequent the area. Guests have the option of game drives and safari by boat.
Mombo Camp in the Okavango Delta follows on the itinerary. Mombo Camp is arguably the premier game viewing spot in the World. The sheer numbers and variety of large mammals is staggering. Game drives here are intense with leopard, lion, cheetah, and elephant sightings frequent. Waking up in the middle of the night with a Buffalo grunting under your raised tent is a unique experience.
After the game drives at Mombo Camp, it’s time for a change of pace and there are few experiences more memorable than Abu Camp. Abu Camp allows guests the extraordinary privilege of being part of an African elephant herd, including riding and walking with them through the bush - the ultimate elephant education. Three days of interacting with the herd and learning about the complex social structure elephant’s exhibit yields an entirely new appreciation of these huge animals.
Jack’s Camp is yet again a totally different experience. It’s often said that this is one of the only places in the World where the silence is so complete you can hear the blood circulating in your ears. Located in the vast Makgadikgadi Pans, exploring the region is done by quad runners. Finishing your safari with meerkats cuddling up to you while enjoying a last breathtaking sunset in one of the most remote, pristine, and quiet places on Earth is a memorable experience.

CONSERVATIONWildlife reserves, private land and world heritage sites throughout Africa offer a luxurious travel option but also a worthwhile experience. Refuges such as these harbor safe breeding grounds for endangered species, often giving the chance to go out with researchers to observe their conservation efforts. South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia have research projects to help conserve the endangered painted dog, in the Cape projects assist with increasing numbers of Cape Leopard and Riverine Rabbit, whilst Zimbabwe is particularly strong in its efforts to breed the black rhino. By staying at such a location you not only support wildlife conservation but increase efforts to educate local communities.
The Safari and Conservation Company was formed in 2009 – the logical amalgamation between two of Kenya’s oldest families involved with conservation and tourism: the Dyers and the Roberts.
The Safari and Conservation Company boasts a portfolio of Kenya’s fi nest properties set in some of the most beautiful wild areas in Kenya, all owned and operated by the Roberts and Dyer families and all dedicated to conserving what is ultimately their home.
Conservation in Kenya has moved beyond the protection of wildlife and its habitat. In a world where resources are getting smaller, everything has to pay its way. Wildlife can no longer be a viewing privilege for the affl uent – it must be a sustainable resource that benefi ts communities, and as such, provide an incentive for its own protection.
The magnifi cent properties that are part of the SCC place the same dedication towards conservation as they do to the comfort of their guests. Be it the development of Ol Chorro Conservancy by Richard’s Camp in the Mara; the health care, education programs and holistic management techniques given to the community by Sirikoi Camp and Borana Ranch; the steadfast protection of the culture and peoples around Lake Baringo by Samatian Island Lodge; or the dedication towards the protection of our reefs by Manda Bay: These properties exist so that their environments may do the same.
By enjoying these properties, you too are helping these vanishing areas of wilderness to survive. How you experience it is up to you: On foot, horseback, helicopter or bi-plane with our sister company, Tropic Air – all with hosts determined that both you and the people and places you visit are enriched by your stay.

water levels. Crowned with an array of ancient, gnarled
baobabs and surrounded on three sides by a vast grey

Skeleton Coast Safaris is a family concern, initiated and nurtured by Louw Schoeman over 32 years ago, whose involvement and interest in the area started in the late 1950’s. His children inherited his passion for the desert and since their early childhood have learned to love and appreciate the beauty of this area. Forty years later, they still discover and learn new things and marvel in its magic.
The Skeleton Coast conjures up mysterious visions of mist-enshrouded beaches strewn with bleached whalebones and rusted shipwrecks. Stretching from the south of Namibia up into Angola, the Skeleton Coast and its hinterland is a landscape of haunting beauty, a vast area of rolling sand dunes, expanses of uninhabited desert plains, fossil beds, unique geological formations, desert-adapted animals and strange vegetation.
The three night and four day adventure fl y in safari reveals the magnifi cent beauty of the Skeleton Coast, Damaraland and the Kaokoland of Namibia. For the discerning traveler wanting to see and experience something truly unique and different, Schoeman Skeleton Coast offers this experience.

Elsa’s Kopje is named after Elsa the lioness, made famous by George and Joy Adamson’s biographical book and film “Born Free”. Elsa’s Kopje remains one of the most elegant lodges in Africa, with one of the most spectacular settings. It is the best up-market location to view rhino in their natural habitat in Kenya.
Elsa’s Kopje is almost invisible to the eye as you approach its home on Mughwango Hill. It blends into the rocky crags of the “kopje” (small hill), built above the site of George Adamson’s original campsite. Every cottage is the ultimate “room-with-a-view”, uniquely designed and crafted, incorporating the natural features of the rocky hillside. Each cottage has spacious double or twin beds with en suite, elegantly appointed bathrooms. There is an open bar, lounge and dining room with an exceptionally inviting infinity pool overlooking the Meru plains.
Elsa’s Private House is a spacious, stylish, exclusive hideaway set slightly apart from the main lodge. It has 1 double room and 1 twin, both with en suite bathrooms. There is a large private living and dining area, leading seamlessly outdoors into a private garden and swimming pool. on the plains are the last great herds of buffalo in East
Africa, reaching 1000 head.
Rivers groan with hippopotamus, and crocodile.
Everywhere you look there’s something grazing,
bellowing, fi ghting, mating or hunting. Days on safari
in Katavi can be wild beyond belief.
Animals always need a really good place to hole up

MORE INFORMATION

all the properties, tours and experiences featured.
Millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelles on the move for new grasses provide a spectacular sight each year in the great wildlife migration. Hunted by predators from the plains of the Serengeti to the lush grasslands of the Maasai Mara, the migration occurs from late June to August. Game viewing is excellent year round, and includes lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, sunbathing hippos and crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species, but increases exponentially during the migration.
Singita Sasakwa Lodge is positioned ideally on the epic migratory route traversed annually by more than 4 million wildebeest. Located in northern Tanzania on the Grumeti Reserves concession, Singita Grumeti Reserves forms part of the renowned Serengeti Mara ecosystem, bordering the Serengeti National Park - Africa’s No. 1 World Heritage Site. There are only three Singita lodges in the Grumeti Reserves concession, an area that spans over 340 000 acres of untouched, exclusive wilderness. Although the concession is as large as the Maasai Mara, there are only 76 beds here – compared to 3000 beds in the Mara – offering low-density tourism and a dense concentration of game that provides an unparalleled, luxuriant private bush adventure. Sharing these vast plains with million upon million of wildebeest and zebra provides a unique opportunity to experience Africa as she once was, wild, raw and un-crowded – but with all of Singita’s trademark attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Sasakwa Lodge is the fl agship of the three camps and encapsulates all the romanticism and grandeur of the colonial era. Set atop a majestic hill surrounded in local tribal history and demanding vistas, the lodge was built in the style of a sprawling 1920’s manor house, with exquisite antiques, dramatic chandeliers and deep verandas embracing a turn-of-the-century ambience. A cliff-edge infi nity pool gives way to a vast horizon of the outstretched Serengeti plains abundant with wildlife.
The eclectic mix of classic European and eccentric African design adds plush opulence to ten spacious cottages, ranging in size from one to four bedrooms. Magnifi cently appointed as a luxury home-away-from-home, each air-conditioned cottage fl aunts a secluded garden, heated infi nity pool, separate living area and a Swarovski spotting scope.
At Sasakwa Lodge, the exquisite views of the sun-kissed, panoramic Serengeti dominate every setting.

GREAT WILDLIFE MIGRATION 39
Situated within a private conservancy in the northern Maasai Mara, this 8-tented traditional safari camp is tucked away in a prime wildlife area, overlooking some of Kenya’s most impressive and picturesque savannah plains. Surrounded by the Mara’s ubiquitous game, Elephant Pepper Camp prides itself on its responsible and eco-friendly approach to tourism, and as a seasonal camp is taken down for a month or so during the rainy season (in order to let the local area regenerate).
Named after the Warburgia ugandensis tree, commonly known as the Elephant Pepper tree, Elephant Pepper Camp offers guests the ultimate African safari experience. Surprise bush breakfasts, exciting game drives and bush walks, memorable “sundowners”, and unwinding around the glowing embers of a campfire at night, all add to the authenticity of this bush experience.
Finally, looking across the plains from Elephant Pepper Camp, one can see the “greatest game show on earth” when the annual wildebeest migration thunders past to seek new grazing in the Maasai Mara’s lush savannahs.
2 ELEPHANT PEPPER CAMP
Though the Serengeti park boundaries officially define
the Serengeti, the ecosystem goes way beyond these
limits and is known as the Greater Serengeti. It’s a
giant snapshot of wild Tanzania - masses of animals,
contrasting landforms, and tribal peoples. Serengeti
Safari Camp travels within the Serengeti National
Park, where densities of animals are mostly higher, and
the chance of seeing large predators is much greater.
The camp is semi nomadic - it won’t move whilst
guests are there - but it’s actually on a wide orbit,
shadowing the Migration, so guests, their own private
Tanzanian guide and the 4WD vehicle, move as close
to a million wildebeest as possible.

Experience some of Africa’s greatest game viewing by horseback. Horse trail enthusiasts can enjoy an exhilarating adventure as they gallop alongside herds of giraffe and observe wildlife at unforgettably close proximity. Meander amongst large mammals including the big 5 and climb to great heights to soak up the breathtaking views of the savannas. Horseback safaris offer guests a delectable combination of landscapes and wildlife whilst accompanied by experienced guides. Choose from rustic luxurious mobile horse safaris or daily rides from your lodge.
Faru Faru Lodge is a riverside lodge with a cutting edge, contemporary style and a decidedly rustic feel, ideal for resting your soul after a long day of horse riding across the plains of the Serengeti. A horseback safari through the Serengeti is exhilarating beyond description and for accomplished equestrians offers an exciting challenge. Led by experienced guides, guests can choose from highly trained Boeperde, warmbloods and thoroughbreds – mainly polo ponies – ranging from 14 to 16 hands high. Located on the Grumeti Reserves concession in northern Tanzania. Singita Grumeti Reserves forms part of the Serengeti Mara ecosystem, bordering on the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park , Africa’s No. 1 World Heritage Site. There are only three Singita lodges in the Grumeti Reserves concession, an area that spans over 340,000 acres of untouched, exclusive wilderness. Although the concession is as large as the Maasai Mara, there are only 76 beds here – compared to 4000 beds in the Mara – offering low-density tourism and a dense concentration of game that provides an unparalleled, luxurious private bush adventure. As with all Singita lodges, Faru Faru offers every luxury for travelers seeking out something really ‘different’, something refreshingly unconventional. The lodge sits low on a dry river bed tributary of the Grumeti River, where guests enjoy frequent sightings as animals come down to drink from the water holes in front of the lodge. While the area is home to the most spectacular large game, smaller creatures – including the rare black and white Colobus monkey – and an incredible array of birdlife and insects abound.

Awaken to the comfort and excitement of a truly luxurious lodge. Each positioned in one of Africa’s most spectacular regions and designed to encapsulate the rugged landscapes and panoramic views. By day, enjoy the abundant wildlife, whether it’s the thrill of tracking down the big 5 on safari, walking with a guide, or canoeing around lush waterways and untamed terrain. As the sun sets enjoy superb pan-African cuisine then drift off to sleep secure in your own suite with just the lull of Africa’s night calls.
Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp is set in a private wilderness concession of 25 000 hectares (61 800 acres) to the southeast of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve in the centre of one of the most unique regions in the world, the Okavango Delta. Renowned for its lush waterways and abundant wildlife, the Okavango is home to a number of aquatic and land species, including the large African predators.
Located in northern Botswana, the Okavango River is a unique natural phenomenon - fl owing more than 1 000 km (620 miles) from its source in Angola, this river disappears beneath the sands of Botswana, creating a lush inland delta in the midst of this otherwise arid country. The Okavango Delta is in a constant state of fl ux, expanding and contracting according to the rainy season. While some parts of the Delta remain permanently fl ooded, others are only deluged during the rainy season from May to September.
Covering approximately one third of the Delta, permanent swamp areas are lush and green, with groves of wild date palm, papyrus and water lilies growing around deep lagoons lined with riverine forest. Seasonal swamps, on the other hand, contain a network of small channels cutting their way through papyrus and reed beds to create islands of all shapes and sizes. Xaranna is located on the channels and lagoons of the southern, seasonal part of the Delta.
Xaranna enjoys luxurious solitude on its own Delta island. Taking its inspiration from the water lily, it is a delightful camp with just nine sleek en-suite safari tents that combine canvas and bleached timber. All of the tents have sweeping views across the channels. Each tent has a romantic sala, private plunge pool, indoor bathtub and al fresco shower. Guests experience guided walking safaris, interpretive game drives and traditional mokoro excursions.

Overlanding
Overlanding, or camping on the move, has a huge
variety of options from the length of the journey –
anything from a 1 week holiday to a 6 months full-on
expedition – to the number of countries in Africa to
be visited – almost unlimited. Then there is the style,
budget bare-bones camping or the luxury end where
there’s a cook to make all the meals – and then of
course there’s every level in-between. Whichever you
choose this is a great way to explore Africa and the
old adage always applies ‘whatever you put in will
determine what you get out’. Some overland trips
require you to help with everything, so go on volunteer
for the washing up, peeling the veggies and putting
up tents! Others will have someone who is part of the
camp staff and will do all this for you. Either way have
fun, enjoy the people you travel with and see some
of the most marvelous wildlife, natural features and
wonderful people this continent has to offer.
Camping overland
21 Days Victoria Falls to Nairobi. This trip combines
the best of both worlds. From adventure activities
in Victoria Falls to relaxation time at Lake Malawi’s
white sandy beaches, to the spice Island of Zanzibar
and Tanzania’s world famous game parks; Serengeti
National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. Includes a cook.
Accommodated overland
20 Days Classic Victoria Falls to Cape Town. One of
the most popular tours combines adrenaline sports
in Victoria Falls with game safaris in Chobe, the
Okavango Delta and Etosha, ending in the Mother City
Cape Town. Accommodation is in lodge, hostel, chalet
or permanent tents and includes a cook.
Expedition overland

Snow-topped Kilimanjaro is a classic climb, and although it helps if you’re fi t and determined, anyone can take on the challenge. Experienced guides lead you up the mountain and help you enjoy the stunning scenery and learn some of the natural history of this World Heritage Site. Trekking is the eco-friendly way to go and allows you to get into pristine wilderness areas where few travelers venture and to interact with local people such as the Maasai or Samburu. Treks can be done at all levels; from super-athlete to lounge lizard, in many parts of Africa, from a few days to many and from the budget to the luxurious. Guides come from local communities and share their intimate knowledge of the surrounding areas.
Seven nights on the mountain gives you plenty of time to acclimatize and a greater chance of reaching the summit. Try the new Moir Route using the Shira Plateau and onto the Arrow Glacier to the fi nal summit at 19,340 feet. If you have slightly less time then 5 nights on the mountain on the more traditional Machame Route using the Barafu ascent is available, but your level of fi tness should be good and you should have had some experience with high altitude. Accommodation is in state-of-the-art mountain dome tents, all meals are cooked for you and all you need to carry is a light day-pack, porters carry the rest.
1 KILIMANJARO CLIMB – AFRICAN ENVIRONMENTS
2 TREKKING – AFRICAN LATITUDES
An 8 day Loita Hills Trek gives a perfect mix of wildlife and cultural experience. The trek begins with game viewing in Masai Mara Game Reserve and then a walking safari with Masai guides in their homeland progressing through a variety of fast changing landscapes, from the indigenous Loita forest onto the plains and up the Nguruman Escarpment. There is in-depth cultural contact with the Masai on the trek to the edge of the Rift Valley and down onto the hot valley fl oor. Walks are up to 15 km per day with plenty of stops to appreciate the surroundings and talk with the people. Donkeys carry equipment and luggage so you only need to carry your own daypack.
The 10 days Northern Tanzania trek is for the outdoors person who wants to get off the classic safari route and appreciate the beauty of the landscape and wildlife but still include some cultural interaction. Discover famous Ngorongoro Crater and the fantastic variety of wildlife in the Serengeti, then trek in the Gol mountains, across the Salei plains, continue with the Masai guides down into the Rift Valley to meet the local tribes and see Lake Natron’s fl amingoes and climb Lengai, an active volcano. Lengai is steep and quite strenuous but there is an alternative walk to spectacular waterfalls for those who prefer.

Rivers, waterways and fl oodplains provide a picturesque backdrop to exquisite accommodation. Wetlands are alive with grunting hippopotamus, sunbathing crocodiles and a wonderful array of birdlife. Superb vantage points provide an impressive place to sit and watch wildlife drink, bath and play. Immerse yourself further in these waterways and canoe silently through lily-covered channels, drifting ever closer to birds, animals and pristine wilderness.
Selinda Camp was completely rebuilt and re-opened in 2007 to acclaim. It is a small, wonderful, luxury tented safari camp that is situated on the banks of the eastern Selinda Spillway - a waterway that links Botswana’s Okavango Delta to the Linyanti and Kwando marshes, rivers and fl oodplains. The shaded camp is raised a meter or so off the ground and offers extraordinary views over the fl oodplains, waterways and wide open savannas which are only broken by attractive palm islands. It is these views that are one of Selinda’s most compelling features.
Guests sit on their verandas while enjoying their meals and gaze pensively over the fl oodplains of the Selinda, enjoying the passing wildlife as it has done for millennia. There is hardly a moment which goes by without animals in front of camp. Selinda has only nine spacious guest tents under thatch. Each tent has comfortable beds and fi ne linen.

If you are traveling in Botswana, spoil yourself with a trip to the Okavango Delta, a shimmering expanse of water found in the middle of the Kalahari Desert. Arrive at your luxury camp in traditional style, via mokoro a dug-out canoe used to glide through the winding waterways and lily fi lled lagoons.
Vundu Camp is a small intimate camp set on the
banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Combining a stay
at Vundu Camp with a 3 day Zambezi Canoeing Safaris
along the Mana Pools shoreline offers incredible views
of the Zambezi escarpment as a back-drop. Canoe
along the edge of the escarpment past fl ood plains
dotted with a wide variety of birds and animals; see
elephants as they come down to drink at the waters
edge and colorful birdlife along the banks. Along the
journey, en-suite tented camps on the banks of the
river, are set up by a full camp staff ahead of your
arrival.
1 VUNDU CAMP & ZAMBEZI CANOEING SAFARIS

including hot and cold running showers, fl ush toilets
and modern amenities.

TENTED CAMPSWhat better way to experience the authentic and wild Africa than by staying at a tented camp, offering the perfect balance of adventure and the luxuries of space, elegance and comfort in a secluded camp. Guests get exceptional wildlife viewing of elephants, giraffes and big cats right on the doorstep. Tented Camps are designed to complement the natural habitat and environment capturing views of open savannas and rich fl oodplains.
Singita Sabora Tented Camp provides the perfect elegant counterpoint to the raw beauty of the surrounding Serengeti plains. Reminiscent of a bygone era, Sabora dishes up lavish doses of ‘Out of Africa’ romance, exploration and intrigue.
Morning balloon rides to the western part of the Serengeti eco system and offer an exclusive opportunity to fl oat in peace and comfort over the backs of the massed wildlife below. At dawn we take off, rising as the sun rises and fl oat in whichever direction the winds of the morning take us.
The pilot can precisely control the altitude of the balloon— sometimes at treetop height, sometimes lower, offering a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife below. At other times he will probably ascend to 1000 feet or more to see the enormity and wonderful panorama of Singita Grumeti Reserves.
From time to time the pilot must put more heat into the balloon with the powerful whisper burners. In between there is silence broken only by the natural sounds from the plains below.
There are only three Singita lodges in the Grumeti Reserves concession, an area that spans over 340 000 acres of untouched, exclusive wilderness. Although the concession is as large as the Maasai Mara, there are only 76 beds here – compared to 3000 beds in the Mara – offering low-density tourism and a heavy concentration of game that provides an unparalleled, luxuriant private bush adventure. Sharing these vast plains with million upon million of wildebeest and zebra provides a unique opportunity to experience Africa as she once was, wild, raw and un-crowded – but with all of Singita’s trademark attention to detail and commitment to quality.
The camp lounge, library and dining area are richly adorned with delightful period antiques, Persian rugs and campaign furniture that bring a sense of vibrant frivolity to this most dramatic and compelling of romantic locations.
Echoing the luxury and textures of a Bedouin camp, this opulent canvas cocoon offers a mix of Colonial styles and local East African infl uences. The interiors at Sabora Tented Camp are a combination of campaign furniture, antiques and Persian rugs. Here, crystal decanters and brass antiques fi nd their place alongside Maasai blankets and traditional beadwork and where silk curtains frame your view onto the plains…
Sipping sundowners on the deck as you contemplate what shade the sky will be that evening, you are transported back in time.

TENTED CAMPS 75
Pioneering the spectacular, un-spoilt northern
Serengeti area, Sayari Camp has become
synonymous with the most dramatic sights Africa
has to offer: the Great Migration crossing the
Mara River, crocodile and hippo action along with
the undisturbed wildlife viewing that the northern
Serengeti has in abundance. The remote area of the
camp offers a private concession-like, completely
uninterrupted encounter with the Serengeti
nature and wildlife. The Camp complements its
environment perfectly. The spacious rooms - with
large, comfortable beds, wide verandas, showers
and bath - have panoramic views of the never-ending
plains. The camp features a beautifully appointed
swimming pool, for ultimate relaxation after a
intensive day in the Serengeti.
2 SAYARI CAMP
Linyanti Bush Camp is a small, intimate 12 bedded
tented camp on the banks of the Linyanti marshes
in a private reserve which borders the western
boundary of Chobe in Botswana. The camp is limited
to small exclusive groups who seek a personalized
experience in a private concession away from the
main tourist routes. Activities from the camp consist
of game drives, walking, spot lighting and hides. This
safari camp provides the perfect atmosphere for an
authentic and wild safari experience.
4 LINYANTI BUSH CAMP
The new ZARAFA Camp re-opened in June 2008 with a beautiful new design and spectacular new location to rave reviews and critical acclaim. The Camp is also the only premier styled Camp in Botswana (if not Africa) to totally derive all power from its array of solar panels behind the camp. National Geographic Adventure magazine in its November 2008 edition has just honored Zibadianja as one of the world’s top 50 eco-lodges and Tattler Magazine has just recognized Zibadianja Camp as one of its top 101 hotels and lodges anywhere. The camp inherited its name from the old Zibalianja Camp. As very few guests have been able to pronounce or remember Zibadianja, the Camp’s name has been changed to Zarafa Camp. Zarafa literally means “the beloved one” or “the lovely one”. The true story of Zarafa is about a giraffe presented to Charles X of France in 1826 by the Viceroy of Egypt. Zarafa was a giraffe that inspired all who came to see her. The new Zarafa Camp does all that and more.
3 ZARAFA CAMP
Mara Plains Camp opened in 2008 in an extraordinary location that appears to be the epicenter and hunting grounds for many of the big cats. Hardly a night passes without the exciting sounds of predator activity and lions roaring nearby. The camp caters for only 12 guests in six spacious and comfortable en-suite canvas rooms built on raised decks. There is an additional tent for a pilot or private guide. The camp is situated along the Ntiakatek River with uninterrupted views of the surrounding plains and riverine forest.
The 4x4 open game-viewing Landcruisers have been designed for comfort with only four to five guests per vehicle. This ensures increased maneuverability for better viewing, photography and an easy environment in which to communicate with the highly experienced guides. All Mara Plains guides are Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association qualified. They are from the area and thus possess intricate knowledge of the local flora and fauna as well as the tribal traditions and customs of the people.
5 MARA PLAINS CAMP
The Cottar Safari tradition began in 1919. Nearly 90 years on, we continue to provide an unparalleled safari experience to discerning clients in Africa. Extending an era of luxury and quality, we return to the original spirit and essence of “safari”, reminiscent of a golden era- an era of romance, professional guiding, adventure and elegance. Situated in the Masai Mara, in an untouched exclusive concession bordering the Serengeti and Loliondo reserves, the area guarantees privacy and an abundance of wildlife. The camp accommodates up to 22 guests in authentic white canvas tents, which are spacious and luxuriously furnished. They incorporate original safari antiques from the ‘20’s, private en suite dressing room and bathrooms, main bedrooms and verandas.

the camp offers spectacular game viewing of large
herds of elephant in their natural habitat. The
endangered painted dog, lion, giraffe, buffalo, zebra,
wildebeest, cheetah and hyaena are all to be found
at Savute. Guests may also enjoy a traditional meal

A place of deep serenity, Loisaba attracts big game
just as it attracts guests; both groups know they will
be safe and well looked after, free to roam unconfi ned
and undisturbed. Star Beds are unique to Loisaba,
imagine four-poster beds on raised platforms with
only the boundless equatorial sky for a ceiling. Located
in two different parts of the reserve the fi rst beds are
found amidst a rocky hill overlooking a waterhole. The
second site is right on the banks of the Ewaso N’giro
River, cantilevered over the fl owing river below. Sleep
under a million stars and awaken to fi nd elephant
swimming in the pool below you, timid wart-hog and
gazelle waiting their turn on the sidelines. The Star
Beds are reached by one of many options; on foot,
horse, camel or by vehicle and staying at both locations
creates an opportunity to travel between them and the
main Loisaba Lodge. This wilderness is home to more
than 260 species of birds and 50 species of wildlife.
1 LOISABA STAR BEDS
A unique opportunity to combine nights at Jack’s
Camp, San Camp or Camp Kalahari with an epic quad
bike journey across the pans including two nights spent
sleeping out under the stars amongst the boulders and
baobabs on Kubu Island. The island itself has terraced
slopes with fossil beaches of wave-rounded pebbles,
providing startling evidence of the prehistoric lake’s
former water levels, and crowned with an array of
ancient, gnarled baobabs and surrounded on three
sides by emptiness.
The best way to get across the saltpans is to quad
bike. Setting off early in convoy, bikes carry bedrolls,
food and water, looking like a long-range desert patrol.
The camp staff arrive at Kubu fi rst; boiling a cauldron
of water for the shower and setting up the drinks tray.
Dinners are three course culinary extravaganzas, laid
out on white damask table-linen, decked with fi ne
glassware and bone-handled silver. The next 2 days are
spent exploring the fascinating surrounding salt pans.
