Corporate use of coworking spaces
Given the nature of many corporates, HUB XV will explore the provision of a dedicated
or segregated space within the HUB XV venue, together with any specific IT or staffing
requirements.
We understand issues around security and privacy prevent many larger companies from using
collaborative work spaces, and this is an issue that we seek to address.
We can devise a customised corporate package agreement to allow expansion or contraction
of staff numbers (and space) with minimum interruption on very flexible terms and highly
competitive pricing.
Corporates are increasingly using coworking spaces attracted by lower costs, increased
flexibility, a stronger emphasis on employee values, and the drive for attaining innovation and
collaboration.
Coworking spaces are no longer developed for just freelancers, entrepreneurs and start-ups.
Larger enterprises are increasingly understanding the measurable and tangible benefits of
placing teams at coworking spaces.
Innovation and collaboration are high on the agenda. 78% of corporate executives believe it’s
important to collaborate with entrepreneurs to encourage innovation according to Accenture’s
“Harnessing the power of Entrepreneurs” publication. Similarly KPMG’s Director of coworking
states “We identify teams of individuals who are complimentary to the space and task them with
getting to know the business owners. They then make new connections as appropriate and build
relationships”
Serendipity Labs add “large employers are keen to respond to employees desires by adopting
modern work values through the implementation of structures including remote and flexible
working”. According to research by Gallop, the highest employee engagement is seen amongst
those who work remotely up to 20% of the time.
Furthermore businesses often manage projects and need to send teams to cities or countries in
which they have no permanent office or presence. Coworking spaces provide this, even if there is
an office in that location it may be better to derive the additional benefits a coworking
space provides.
Soon to be published, the Angela Mortimer plc 2019 Blue Book Employment Survey states: “ only
4% of companies ranked flexible working as a key criteria for potential employees, compared
with 48% of candidates. Also, 56% of companies reported an increase in flexible working
requests”
It continues: “nearly half of organisations recognised positively that the physical office space
is becoming less important to achieving business success. Mainly due to advancements in
technology, work is becoming more flexible”
