ADVANCED FUNCTIONS
• Advanced ramping for waterjet
The special dynamic ramp ramps down the speed corners, arcs and circles to
compensate the deviation of the jet to get a straight cut. Depending on the
CAD/CAM system. PA recommends to use PA CUT.
• Cutter compensation look ahead
Cutter compensation look ahead is an extension of the standard cutter
compensation. Multiple blocks (standard values: 10, 25, 100) can be looked at
in advance to detect and avoid collisions. Different adjustments are possible
for reaction to the detection of a collision: e. g. generate a message but keep
executing, take a shortcut to avoid contour damage. Cutter compensation
look ahead can also execute NC programs with dummy blocks (blocks without
movement information) which normally only works in special cases.
• Distance regulation
There are different ways to make the distance regulation:
– By Tip-Touch to find height by PLC
– Different touching devices such as pneumatic cylinder, analog sensor etc.

– Tip touch can be done only once, at start of every contour or with time interval
– Permanent distance regulation by ring with analog sensor controlled by CNC
• Refill units for abrasive, means if small tank on the machine turns to run empty
the sand is loaded from the big storage tank.
• Water tank cleaning logic and water level regulation logic
• Different working areas for cutting and loading/unloading at the same time
• Data output of cutting parameters such as cutting time, no. of parts etc.

WATERJET CUTTING
• Surface height compensation
– With the surface height compensation function, the plate can be measured by
a touching device to get the height compensation values at different positions.
The CNC is automatically compensating the Z-axis by these values.
• Bevel functions
– Beveling is available either with loops – by turning the angle outside the
con tour or without loops – by preturning the angle on the contour.
Power Automation offers a transformation especially for corners which allows
to cut corners precisely without stopping.
– PA has extensive measuring functions to measure the 3D head.
– Also Power Automation offers a measuring device to automatically
measure the 3D head after first installation or after collision.
• Multiple heads
– Multiple heads can be realized
– There can be heads on the same axis or independently moved heads
– Also multiple bevel heads are possible
– Different combinations e. g. waterjet + drilling spindle are possible
• Multiple bridges
– Multiple bridges can be realized by multiple CNC channels

The HMI for waterjet cutting offers all
relevant functions for an easy and efficient
operation of your waterjet cutting machine. It
can be very easily and flexibly customised and
updated to meet the needs of the user. With the
latest QT4 technology, the PA HMI is not only
graphically very attractive but also very
powerful.
PA CUT
PROGRAMMING AND OPERATING SOFTWARE
PA CUT is a programming and operating soft-
ware for cutting machines and can be integ-
rated optionally into the PA CNCs. It offers a
wide range of functions like plate management,
pre-programmed macro shapes, bridge cutting,
bevelling etc. and is easy to operate. More than
11 different languages are available.

The turn-key solution comes with a pre-pro-
grammed PLC which features all the functio-
nality needed for a standard waterjet cutting
machine such as start and stop handling, drive
handling, error message handling and security
functions. Most of the interfaces for common
high-pressure pumps and height control units
are already included. That makes the integration
as easy as possible.

integrate your own routines using
DLLs into the real-time kernel of
the PA CNC. Unlike other CNC ma-

special development environment
