The KrickenbeckerSeen, peat extraction of low marshes resulting lakes in Nettetal on the left Lower Rhine in North Rhine-Westphalia. The present form received in the period from 16th until 19th Century by peat cutting on a large scale and through the inlet river Nette.

FOUR LAKESThe lakes "HinsbeckerBruch" (water area: 37.5 hectares), "Glabbacher Bruch" (36.0 ha) "Poelvenn" (24.5 hectares) and "Schrolik" (15.5 ha) are part of the Nette. The names "Bruch" and "Venn" refer to the earlier expression of Peat Land as a swamp.
