CONTENT

Austria has a long tradition in construction and operation of road and rail tunnels. Safety for users and accident response management have become important topics for existing and newly designed tunnels. Following the successful tradition this international symposium offers again the possibility to exchange knowledge and to gain deeper insight into the newest developments in the fields mentioned below. The focus is put on:

Ventilation: design, fire loads Emission, emission factors Risk analysis, limits, assessment for safety related equipment Choice of ventilation systems in relation to risk analysis System tests (tunnel – safety – ventilation) System tests for commissioning, recurring tests Tunnel operation Refurbishment and upgrading of tunnels under operation Innovative concepts and installations

The programme covers plenary lectures on the 12th and 13th of May as well as technical visits on May 14th, 2014.

TECHNICAL VISITS

Wednesday, May 14th, is reserved for technical visits (details will follow).

EXHIBITION The conference exhibition offers a chance to meet experts and to learn about projects, new products and innovations on a very high level.

With more than 1000 m² of exhibition space, located door to door to the conference rooms, an optimal forum for business contacts can be guaranteed. Note: The exhibition booths are early booked up (already months before conference)

Please register as soon as possible.

SYMPOSIUM FEE EURO 850,-- (Presenting authors will get a reduction of 25 %). The fee includes proceedings, coffee and lunch during the symposium as well as a conference dinner.

CALL FOR PAPERS Papers are invited on any of the topics outlined or which cover the general field of the symposium. Abstracts with not more than 300 words should be submitted to the symposium organisers not later than September 30, 2013.

To ensure a high-quality conference, all abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee on technical merit and content for acceptance as either oral or poster presentation at the conference.

All accepted papers (English version only) will be published in the proceedings. Conference language: German and English

Simultaneous translation in both languages Authors will be notified and the programme will be issued in January 2014.
