BOOK CLUB

Thank you to the families that ordered books from the first edition of Book Club. With every order made Tulliallan PS earns reward points that we can redeem for books for our students to use. From the first order we were able to purchase over $200 worth of books that our students will benefit

from.

ATTENDANCE

It is extremely important for every child to arrive at school on time ready to learn. Unfortunately, we have a large number of students who arrive after 9.00am. Those students are missing valuable learning time that is impacting their development. It is also impacting their social interactions, as at the start of the day teachers encourage peer connectedness. Please

ensure your child/ren arrive at school before 9.00am.

HATS

This week the number of students in Hat Duty is still far too high. We are now in Week 4 of Term 1 and it is expected that all children have a

Tulliallan hat to wear at recess and lunchtime. As the Education Department Sun Smart policy states; all children must wear a hat in Term 1

and 4. Parents will be notified of children that do not have a hat.

EVACUATION DRILL

This Friday we will be conducting an evacuation drill so all students and teachers can practice leaving the buildings and making their way to the designated evacuation spot on the oval. Please do not be alarmed if you

are driving past the school and see the whole school on the oval.

Have a great week

Introducing our Leading Teachers and Learning Specialists

In 2019, we have appointed 2 Leading Teachers and 3 Learning Specialists. The role of these leaders are to lead significant areas of the curriculum and oversee particular year levels. They will collect whole school data on student achievement, analyse and evaluate the data to ensure that we are meeting the needs of all students. Part of their role will be to support, coach and develop staff as a part of continuing our school improvement and commitment to the students. They will have an important role supporting myself and Mrs McDonald to continue Tulliallan Primary School’s highly regarded reputation.

FROM THE OFFICE

Don’t forget to label your children’s school hats and jumpers so any misplaced items can be returned to them.

School finishes at 3.20pm and children must be collected promptly. If you are running late due to unforeseen circumstances please call the office on 8766 3100 to let us know.

Lunches - it is important that your child remembers to bring their lunch to school in the morning, children can get quite distressed when they find out they have forgotten their lunchbox.

If you are having trouble logging onto Compass please call the office so we can assist you.

Please remember that we do not keep any change in the office. If you are sending cash in with your child, please put it in an envelope or zip lock bag together with the consent/payment slip.
