MSBA report: School districts fare well on Election Day; new high set for operating levy referendum passage rate

MSBA’s report on school district referendum results for Election Day (Tuesday, November 3) shows that most school districts fared well with their voters. Out of 52 school districts requesting operating levies, 47 districts passed at least one question and five districts failed, for a passage rate of 90.4 percent. The 90.4 percent passage rate for operating levies is the highest in history since MSBA started tracking them in 1980. The previous high was 86.4 percent in 1997.

Also, out of the 37 school districts requesting bond and capital levies on Election Day, 23 school districts passed at least one question. Fourteen school districts’ requests failed, for a passage rate of 62.2 percent.
