Directed by Suresh, the movie also features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Catherine Tresa in key roles. A sequel to yesteryear hit Neeya, it is about a snake that wants to take revenge. Speaking to News Today, she says, ‘I appear in two different get-ups in the movie. There are a lot of suspense elements in the film’. EXCERPTS FROM HER INTERVIEW: Tell us about Neeya 2? Though it is a multi-starrer, there is enough scope for every artiste. It is a movie that revolves around a snake that wants to take revenge on few. Shooting for the movie was real fun. There are several interesting moments in the films for audience to enjoy. uuu Did you act with real snakes? No. We created them through computer graphics. I was scared when I saw a real snake. I have already seen the original (Neeya) and hence I know what the movie would want from me. uuu Why there is a big gap in Tamil industry? It was not intentional. I am not keen on quantity. Quality matters the most. I don’t mind to wait till get the right project. When they approached me with the script of Neeya 2, I readily agreed. uuu What is secret of your fitness? I am a fitness freak. I worked out and reduced 15 kilos. I always believe that there is a healthy mind in healthy body. uuu With elections around, were you approached by any political party to campaign for them? Of course, I was approached by many. But I politely refused all the offers. My passion is to act in good movies. uuu Who do you think is the best actress today? We have wonderful talents today. The likes of Tapsee and Nayanthara do their work well. uuu How do you see #MeToo movement? It is a good beginning. Many women come out and speak boldly today. Directed by debutant K R Chan- dru, Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari promises to be an edge-of-seat thriller with a unique story and strong characters. Pradaini says this is precisely the reason why she chose to test waters in acting. She explains, ‘Personally, I have always looked upon certain female characters in the movies, which either inspire or enthrall the audiences. I believe that the actresses shouldn’t be depicted merely as Barbie dolls or glamor- ized emblems. When Chandru narrated me the story and my character, of Brindha, I instantly fell in love with her.’ Pradaini understands that every model isn’t an inborn actress, but few are really endowed with a vivified gift of becoming a per- former. The film was selected from among 10 nominations in various languages from all over the country. The award comprises a cash prize of Rs 1.50 lakh and a memento to be presented at a ceremony to be held on 12 August. The movie 96 is about school mates who meet at a reunion that rekindles memories. Prem Kumar made his directorial debut last year with 96, which he also wrote and in which Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha starred in lead roles. The Gollapudi award was established in 1998 in hour of young director Gollapudi Srinivas who passed away in an accident during the shoot of his maiden venture in 1992. MERA NAAM KEERTHY SURESH u Tamil actress makes her Bollywood debut opposite Ajay Devgn | NT Bureau | A ctress Keerthy Suresh will be making her Hindi film debut opposite Ajay Devgn in a sports film. The film directed by Amit Sharma, has Ajay es- saying the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, an Indian football player who later became the coach and manager of the Indian national team in the ‘50s. Rahim is regarded as the architect of modern Indian football. The film is rerportedly not a bilingual, but a Hindi feature film. Speaking about the project, Keerthy said, ‘I’m elated and honoured to be a part of such a great story. This film is a forgotten chapter in Indian history and I am glad that the makers have chosen to tell this story. This is a film that will make each and every Indian proud.’ ‘I believe this is a story that doesn’t belong to any specific region or a section of audience. It is a great Indian story that the world should know. With all my past films, I have consciously chosen to do roles that challenge me and add to the narrative of the film. When the makers came to me with this role, I was quite intrigued by it and felt that I would be able to pull it off,’ she added. On acting with a Hindi film superstar, Ajay Devgn, Keerthy Suresh noted, ‘He is one of the most talented superstars that we have in our country. I have seen a lot of his films and it is an honour for me to share screen space with an actor of his calibre.’ Rahim’s biopic will go on the floors in June. The film is produced by Sridevi’s husband, Boney Kapoor along with Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta. Boney said Keerthy’s presence would give the film an en- hanced reach in the southern belt. Arun Vijay completes shooting for Saaho

Actor Arun Vijay has completed the shooting for the mega venture Saaho starring Prabhas in the lead.

He tweeted, Its a wrap for me!! #Saaho. Happy to have been a part of this incredibly hard work-ing team. Thanks to #Prabhas @sujeethsign @UV_Creations & the rest of da cast n crew for makin this journey a memorable one! Wait for an exhilarating experience in thea-tres from Aug 15! C u all..’

Saaho, directed by Sujeeth stars Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. It also has Arun Vijay, Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Evelyn Sharma and others play-ing pivotal roles. The movie is simultaneously made in four lan-guages - Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam.

Saaho has music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and cinematography by R Madhie, while Sreekar Prasad has handled the cuts.
