The value of lightingLighting contributes to the sense of well-being. In thetypical industrial environment good lighting increasesproductivity, improves quality and safety and reducesfatigue. The TTX400 light line supports these requirementswith its high quality and highly cost-effective design.

The experience of lightingLighting can enhance the shopping experience. The TTX400 can achieve this by its perfect light distribu-tion in a host of design configurations, allowing customers'attention to remain fully focused on the products.

Changes for the betterBuilding on the success of the earlier design, the newTTX400 has undergone major enhancements andrestyling, extending the trunking's areas of applicationwith the same ease of installation. The TTX400 remainsthe world's fastest, easiest trunking to install and you'llalways find it in stock at your local wholesalers. That'swhy, like the earlier version, it will remain a firm favoritewith installers. And the basic chassis remains the same,so adding to existing TTX400 light lines is no problem.

Dedicated light distribution

New TL5 design

9 wires

LINESENSE

Changes for the better

MiniaturizationThe new range of TL5 reflectors has been optimizedaround the small TL5 lamp. Result: a true small design, making sure the TTX400 fits easily with your application.

OLC opticsWhere Philips developed the OLC (omnidirectionalluminance control) optics for recessed and surfacemounted luminaires, we now use the same optics forTTX400. OLC optics offer superb glare control andefficiency, making it possible to use the TTX400 inapplications like libraries and universities.

Dedicated light distributionBased on broad experience in shops, Philips developeddedicated reflector solutions for this segment. Forgeneral lighting the TL5 reflectors are optimized for theirlight output ratio, resulting in a higher general lightinglevel. For Do It Yourself shops new inlay reflectors focusthe light on the shelves, rather than on the floor, attractingthe customers attention to the products.

9 wiresAs well as the standard 5 and 7 pre-wired trunkings,TTX400 now offers 9 wires as a clicks only solution. This opens the possibility to easily combine emergencylighting with control functions like dimming or DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface).

LINESENSELINESENSE is a smart integration of controls andTTX400. Offering a tool-less control solution resulting in a high level of comfort and maximum energy savings, especially in a distribution centre.

The new TTX400 has been built on the success of our earlier design. With a range of new products we providethe perfect solution for customizing your light application.

Perfect light distribution and a touch of style makeTTX400 light lines the ideal choice for large stores andhypermarkets. The slim elegant housing is designed tohold one or two lamps to provide varying illumination inone visually continuous light line. Giving maximum bright-ness where it’s required on the shelves. It‘s also possibleto mount spots on the trunking to provide accentlighting on, for example, special offers.

HypermarketsHigh lighting levels are the major requirement inhypermarkets – focusing attention on the products andcreating a bright stimulating shopping atmosphere.Thenew optimized TTX400 design with TL5 lamps boostslight output, allowing for much higher brightness levels

than with the earlier version, or the same brightness withfewer luminaires – saving installation and maintenancecosts and energy.

Do It YourselfThe optimized TL5 inlay reflectors create a bi-directionalbeam profile that puts the accent on the gondolas ratherthan the floor. And with its slim, stylish design, the TTX400 light line never intrudes, allowing customers’attention to remain fully focused on the products.

Enhancing the shopping experience

"Within the Gamma and Karwei DIY stores, we actively use light as a marketing tool. Together with Philips,

we developed a concept that results in a large and open impression of our shops. Thanks to TTX400's dedicated

TL5 reflector solutions, the client’s eye is attracted to our products, rather than to the rest

of the interior. Giving it our products the attention we want them to have, from top to bottom shelf."

"Philips' TTX400 trunking system with its 9 wires was the first choice for Royal Mail's new postal distribution

centre in Daventry (UK), because it offered them the facility to automatically test their emergency lighting without

the necessity for someone to physically walk around to inspect each emergency luminaire. A control panel allows

them to check the functionality and record the results of their emergency lighting for any part of the building

at any time."

Philips’ fully-automated LINESENSE lighting controlsystem can be integrated into the TTX400 light line tosave energy by automatically dimming or switching offthe lighting when nobody is present. Specifically designedfor light lines, LINESENSE provides movement-activatedlight regulation/switching and can be set to switch on/offfor maximum economy or to dim to 3% to allow energysaving and fast switch-on. Ensuring people never have tomove through dark areas, especially at night – boosting

confidence and comfort. For maximum flexibility,LINESENSE can also be combined with DALI to allowdimming to predetermined levels (10%, 20% or 30%),daylight regulation and manual control.

Easy to install by being simply clicked between thetrunking and the electrical hook-up, LINESENSE worksfully automatically and requires no extra maintenance.

Automatic lighting control with LINESENSE

Expanding possibilities with the 9 wire optionThe TTX400 can accommodate virtually any electricalconfiguration you might require. The standard trunkingsections come pre-wired with 5 or 7 wire flat ribboncable. But you can also choose a 9 wire version, allowingyou to combine emergency lighting with other controlfunctions such as dimming, emergency-light testing oradvanced lighting management tools such as DALI without the need to install extra wiring.

What’s more, simple click connectors mean that evenwith the extra wiring, the TTX400 is still the fastest andeasiest trunking to install.

Throwing light on public spacesThe enhanced features of the new TTX400 also make itideal for lighting indoor public spaces such as librariesand public galleries. With its slim, stylish TL5 design, highlight output and optimized lighting distribution, the newtrunking system is an attractive alternative to standardluminaires traditionally used in these applications.

Enhanced visual comfortThe all-round high performance of the TTX400’s newoptics (based on Philips’ proprietary OLC technology)offers optimum light distribution and efficiency withexcellent glare control fully complying with EN12464-1norms for working spaces. Enhancing visual comfort andcreating a pleasant, relaxing environment.

Variable light coverage Interior designers will also be attracted by the possibilityto vary light coverage along a continuous light line usingone or two lamps in the same housing and with thesame optics. Allowing light levels to be adapted whereneeded, for example, in library reading areas which needmore light than the bookshelves.

TL5 technology in the electrical units TMX400 offers many advantages compared with TL-Dsolutions.The higher efficiencies save energy and costs. Increased flexibility in lamp choicefrom high-efficiency (28W and 35W) to high output lamps (49W, 54W and 80W).High output lamps will reduce the number of electrical units to be used, and thus installationand maintenance time. Emergency lighting versions are available, see page 24.

Aluminium reflectors TL-D

Aluminium reflectors offer a higher LOR than white reflectors. They are availablein a range of versions from wide-beam (matt or hammer bow) to very narrow(high gloss).Typical applications are general lighting for industries, warehouses andDIY shops. Hammer bow reflectors offer a higher LOR and better glare factorthan matt material. High gloss material is used to achieve very narrow beamswith maximum efficiency.

Projectors

The combination of general lighting and accent lighting is especially attractive in hypermarketsand supermarkets. For these applications, the TTX400 system can be equipped withprojectors. The electrical units for the projectors are simply clicked into the trunking, and caneasily be replaced with a standard electrical unit for TL lamps. Dedicated electrical units areavailable to mount low-voltage halogen spots. More common is the use of projectors, directlyclicked into a 3 circuit rail, or mounted via a spot bracket.

X,T or L -crossings

The pre-wired structure facilitates the creation of X,T or L -crossings of trunkings. The ZTX400 CPX is delivered with integrated coupling pieces, blind covers and end plates.

Emergency lighting

Non-centralized emergency lighting (EL) in the TTX400 is performed via electrical unitsequipped with batteries and invertors. Depending on the invertor, a 3 hour or 1 houremergency lighting solution is provided. Fully pre-equipped EL electrical units save installationtime. In line with the TTX400 philosophy, the EL solutions are also clicks only.

Decentral emergency lighting with non dimming gear

TTX400 solutions without dimming can be equipped with ELusing standard TTX400 trunking with 7 wires. The poles NNand LL are used to connect the EL. 1 or 3 hour EL solutionscan be chosen.

Emergency lighting automatic test system

As a result of legislation, responsibility for fire safety lies with the directors of business and withbuilding operators. This leads to a requirement for regular testing of emergency lighting luminaires.Testing can be done manually via visual control. But thanks to the integration of intelligent invertorsand the TTX400, emergency lighting testing can be done automatically via interfaces and a computer.Simple software allows a time interval to be chosen to check the EL.The results are stored in a logbook. Dedicated electrical units are needed together with the TTX400 9 wire version (8th and 9th

wires are twisted: 9T). Emergency lighting automatic test systems are available on request.
