Why do we use PowerPoint?

Given this, a few guiding principles are important:
• “A picture is worth a thousand words” : The advantage of PPT versus word is the visual enhancement - use it!
• Every detail that is in a written report does not need to be represented in the slides— However, if you must include a lot
of detailed charts, etc. try to annex as much as possible so you can refer to them only if needed

it’s important to keep in mind that for the most part, PPTs
are intended to summarize a
report or longer written document for presentation or
discussion purposes – not replace one
