Wow what a fantastic start we have had to Term

4. We have been busy writers and learning how

to problem solve in maths. Also we have been

discussing a very big word ‘sustainability’ and

learning what we can do to look after and

protect our earth, animals and ourselves.

Well done 1/2W on a great year of friendship

and learning.

What a wonderful time we have been having in

2/3C! Our classroom is beaming with colour from

our turtle artworks, firework displays and ice

cream drawings. We have been making our

brains sweat in maths as we work with big

numbers in addition and subtraction and explore

the language associated with multiplication.

Each Monday Craig keeps us busy in the garden

as we learn about various animals and their

habitats, we are also helping to build a cave that

will go on show later this year at Maitland art

gallery.

Currently our favourite jingle is the Lama song, if

you see one of us around be sure to ask us to

perform it for you.

There is now less than 25 days left of school, we

have started our classroom advent calendar and

are brain storming different Christmas activities

we can do. It’s been a wonderful year in 2/3C

and we look forward to continuing to grow in

our educational journeys as the year continue

and we move into year 3 and 4 next year.

POINT WOLSTONCROFT CAMP

Last week Ms Lambert, Ms Webber and Mr Pala took 46 excited students away to Point Wolstoncroft for our 3-6 camp. Students had a fabulous time and enjoyed participating in lots of fun activities including ropes course, stand up paddle boarding, sailing, damper making, wombat hole and rock climbing. Thank you to all the students on their amazing behaviour. Below is a recount from two of our students… Last Wednesday we went to camp. We had lots of fun, there were so many fun activities. My favourites were stand up paddle boarding and the wombat hole where Ms Lambert crawled through and got out with sand everywhere. We had an amazing time! Bella 3/4L Last week at camp we did all different amazing activities. My favourite activity was stand up paddle boarding because everyone kept falling off. We couldn’t stop laughing at each other. It was the best time ever! Talitha 3/4L

CYBER SAFETY PRESENTATION On Wednesday November 28 from 4:00 - 5:00pm (before the Parent Information Evening) all community members and parents are invited to attend a FREE presentation delivered by Leonie Smith one of Australia’s leading cyber safety experts. This presentation will be held in the Kearsley Centre (MPC). CHILDREN ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ATTEND DUE TO THE CONTENT. If you are attending the cyber safety and then wish to attend the Year 7 Parent Information evening, we will provide supervision for your child in the Learning Centre (Library) for the duration of the cyber safety presentation. “Raising Responsible Digital Citizens” will allow you to learn about a number of important topics including: the hidden dangers within popular apps, how to set up adult content filters to protect your child from nasty surprises, age limits on social media and messaging apps, online game safety, sexting, dealing with cyber bullying, and supervising rather than spying on your child online.

YEAR 7 PARENT INFORMATION EVENING The Year 7 Parent Information Evening will follow on from the cyber safety session and will be held in the Learning Centre. This session will cover all the details you need to know for your child starting Year 7 in 2019. Representatives from Harvey Norman will be in attendance from 5pm. Year 7 & 11 students will be required to bring a suitable computing device that meets our school’s BYOD requirements to school every day from 2019. We have established a partnership with Harvey Norman to provide you with affordable, compatible devices.
