Rev. Curtis McNatt Harrington

Curtis McNatt Harrington , the second child of Zebulon Palmer Harrington and Carrie Johnson Harrington, was born at4:30 a.m. on January 31, 1917, at the family home on Dick Street in Greensboro, N. C.

He attended Greensboro City Schoo ls, and on December 1, 1934, married Beulah "Bea" Vista Nuckles of Colfax, N. C., born September 3, 1916.

Curtis worked as a knitter at Mock-Judson Hosiery Mill in Greensboro in his early years . Then, when he was turned down for military service due to his vision, he moved to Virginia and worked in the shipyards. Later, he moved to Lakeland , Fl. Where he worked in the construction of amphibious tan ks .. for military use.

''Frmtland Umvers1ty (Frmtland Bible Cm.l.ege?) and Southeastern Semmary, Wake Forest . He pastored Kentuck Baptist Church, Ringgold, Va ., from 19 50 to Oct. 1960; East Sanford Baptist Church from Oct. 1960 to 1963; and Summerfield Baptist Church from 1963 to 1970 at which time he retired. ·After retiring, he was interim pastor at Clifton Road Bapti st Church, Macedonia Baptist, Fellowship Baptist, Pleasant Grove Baptist , Inman Baptist and Temple Baptist Church .

Children: James Palmer Harrington married Brenda Gene Gaines July 28, 1962.

Grandchildren: Brenda Gayle Harrington married Whitley Vernon Wooten April 3, 1993 .

RALEIGH - Rev : Curtis Mc:-Nutt Harrington, 80, a retired Baptist minister of 47 years, died Friday, May 23, 1997. ,. _ ·

The funeral will be 3 p.m . Sun-day, May 25, 1997, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Fuquay-Varina. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving is his wife, Beulah N. Harrington; daughter, Ann Carr of Stockton, Calif.; son, James P . Harrington of Raleigh; grandchil-dren, Chris Carr of Valley ·, Springs, Calif., Gayle Wooten of Apex, and Lee Harrington of Ra-leigh; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Annie Maude Collins , I of Madison ; and Nan Terrell 'of 1 Greensboro .

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p .m. Saturday, May 24, 1997, at Thomas Funeral Home, 1

401 N. Ennis Street, Fuquay-Vari-na, and other times at the home of Mr . and Mrs. James Harrington, 5505 Fallen Leaf Court, Raleigh.
