Tsunami Wall MountA High Performance “Continuity of Design” Luminaire
®Down LightingConfiguration
HID or
DayAesthetically the Tsunami Wall Mount Luminaire is
designed to gracefully flow from the wall as an
integral part of the architecture. In addition, it is a
complementary design to the Tsunami pole mounted
luminaire, which unifies the outdoor lighting scheme.
NightTsunami Wall Mount is a cutoff area luminaire available
in Types II, III and IV light distributions as required to illuminate
various distances from the wall. In addition, wall illumination
provides visual security from a distance, signaling to visitors
that the building perimeter is well lighted.
Night WashInterior ceilings or exterior canopies and
overhangs can be washed in light using
the inverted Tsunami Wall Mount. The
available Type II, III and IV optics allow
various overhead surface widths to be
illuminated without excessive spill
beyond the target plane. In addition,
the outstanding uniformity of the optical
systems insures an even wash of light.
Night GrazeGrazing a facade with light should not
be confused with wall washing,
although a certain amount of wall
illumination is achieved. The grazing
effect is intended to create dramatic
highlights on window cavities, reliefs,
projections, moldings and surface
texture on building facades. Wall
grazing only lends itself to the
appropriate types of architecture, but
when properly executed creates a
dramatic and theatrical effect.
Up LightingConfiguration
DayBecause the Tsunami Wall luminaire is available
inverted for upward illumination, careful attention was paid to
its top design which becomes the dominant aesthetic from
below. In addition to its flowing lines from the wall, a pattern of
cooling fins creates texture and form.

HID reflectors are fabricated from pre-finished 95% reflectance Miro sheet. Multiple vertical staging reduces the overall height to fit within the low profile fixture housing.
Tsunami Wall Mount HID Optical Systems satisfy dark sky requirements in the down configuration. As such, they eliminate wasted upward light (energy), enhance visibility for safety and security, and contribute to a growing movement to bring back the star filled night sky.
HID reflectors are precisely contoured and staged to produce high candlepower for maximum fixture spacing with excellent uniformity.

The system uses a three stage optical train for precise control and
distribution of the raw LED light: Capture 100% of the raw LED light; Collimate all of the light downward; and Vector
the light outward to the area to be illuminated.

The same three standard IES light distributions are available as with the HID optical system.
U.S. Architectural's system is innovative and unique within the lighting industry. It is a self contained module that is completely sealed from the elements to meet an IP67 rating. The module consists of a precision cast and machined housing with integrated heat sinks that protect the internal components such as the LED's and the Reflector Prisms. A tempered glass lens allows light to pass while keeping contaminants from depreciating the optical components' performance.
The optical system satisfies dark sky requirements. Uniformity of illumination is superior with the system due to its precise optics.

Type II Optics In the Down Lighting Configuration, this light distribution is ideal for perimeter security on pathways close to the building. The Up Lighting Configuration is best suited for building overhangs, and for canopies over pedestrianwalkways.
Type III Optics In addition to lighting pathways close to the building, this light distribution can extend out to cover driving lanesnext to the pathway. The Up LightingConfiguration has similar applications as the Type II, except it reaches out to light wider overhangs and canopies.
Type IV Optics In the Down Lighting Configuration, this light distribution is ideal for loading docks, airport gates, or where polemounted luminaires would interferewith traffic. Upward, this light distribution is best for interiors withexpansive vaulted or angled ceilings.
Wall Graze Optics This Up Lighting distribution throwsa sheet of light up building facades. Its application is to create dramatichighlights on window cavities, reliefs, projections, moldings and surface texture. A certain amount of wallillumination will occur close to thefixture, but that should not beconsidered the primary purpose ofthis lighting effect. In applying the wall grazing concept, be sure the facade is receptive to this technique with no ledges or obstructionspreventing the light from reachingthe desired building features.
Wall Spot Optics This Up Lighting distribution has twoprimary applications. It can be usedto graze and highlight vertical elements such as columns, or tohighlight specific building featuressuch as statues, flags and structural elements.

Air Flow
Wall Mounting Both Up and Down configurations utilize mounting plates that are first attached to the wall (over the J-box) without the fixture. After securing the mounting plate to the wall and pulling field wires through, the fixture is hung onto the plate freeing both hands to complete the mounting, make field splices and install the lamp (HID).
HID ModelsFixture body and lens frame are heavy cast aluminum, fully gasketed and IP67 rated. Lens frame hinges to the side to prevent it from hitting the wall. The reflector is unitized for easy removal, and all electrical components are mounted to a single plate for ease of installation and service.
See Page 3.
ModelsAvailable in Down Model. Fixture body and lens frame are identical to the HID model. The Module is a self contained hermetically sealed IP67 rated unit attached to the lens frame. To facilitate proper cooling of the Module, outside air passes over the module heat sinks. The driver is mounted to the back wall, and field connections are made inside the housing after mounting.

stainless steel clips with full silicone gasketing around the
perimeter.
Reflector Module - Specular Alzak® optical segments rigidly
mounted in an aluminum frame, which attaches to the
housing as a one piece module. Tool-less removal of reflector
module allows for field rotation in 90°increments without the
use of tools. All sockets are porcelain 4KV pulse rated, medium
base (E26). Reflector modules are factory prewired with
quick-disconnect plug.
Special for Wall Graze Reflector – Blackened louver vanes
run parallel to arc tube to reduce striations and hot spots
on vertical surfaces close to the fixture.
Electrical Components - All electrical components are UL
and cUL recognized, mounted on a single plate and factory
prewired with quick-disconnect plugs. Electrical module
attaches to housing with no-tool hinge and locking screw,
accessible behind the reflector module. Standard electronic
MH ballasts have power factor of >.95 (70W – 150W) -20°F
starting, 120-277V, 50Hz/60Hz and have lamp End-of-life
protection. Magnetic MH ballasts are high power factor (70W
– 150W) -20°F starting, multi-tap, 60Hz. All HPS ballasts are core
and coil, high-reactance, high power factor (70W – 150W),

Reflector-Prism optics, and seals the module from water
intrusion and environmental contaminants. Entire module
meets an IP67 rating. Emitters (LED's) are Luxeon Rebel ES,
high output, Neutral White nominal 4100K CCT for the entire
module (Cool White nominal 5300K is available, consult
factory for other LED options). Each emitter is optically
controlled by a Reflector-Prism injection molded from H12
acrylic (3 types per module; one from 0° - 50°; one from 50° -
65°; one from 65° - 72°). Each Reflector-Prism has indexing pins
for aiming and is secured to an optical plate made of matte
black anodized aluminum. The optical plate locates every
Reflector-Prism over an emitter. Reflector-Prisms are secured to
the optical plate with a UV curing adhesive. The
Reflector-Prisms are arrayed to produce IES Type II, IES Type III,
and IES Type IV distributions. The entire Module is field
rotatable in 90° increments. Both module and drivers are
factory wired using water resistant, insulated cord. Lens,
module and drivers are field replaceable.
Driver – Constant current LED drivers are UL and cUL
recognized mounted on a single plate and factory prewired
with quick-disconnect plugs. Drivers are electronic and have
a power factor of >.90 and a minimum operating
temperature of -40°F. Drivers accept an input of 120-277V,
50/60Hz. (Consult factory for dimming applications.)
