What is the Wireless Local Loop feature? Local Loop provided

wirelessly Alternative to the exclusively

wired local loop Flexible & rapid deployment

option in contrast to the purely wired local loop

Comprised of fewer maintenance points

Not limited to a single network topography

Supported by numerous wireless devices

WLL supports Mobility option Supports co-existence of

numerous vertical features

Wireless Switch

What is Local Loop? Subscriber dial tone BORSCHT functionality

• Battery feed suppling dc to the local loop

• Overvoltage protection to limit or isolate foreign voltages on the local loop

• Ringing voltage to the local loop & includes answer detection

• Signaling of hook status (on-hook & off-hook) (defined in IS-2000-A)

• Coding conversion of analog to digital and digital to analog via the codec

• Hybrid conversion of the 2-wire bi-directional local loop to a 4-wire path with separate, unidirectional transmit & receive circuits. Performs impedance matching of the local loop to provide echo cancellation

• Test access & test of the local loop
