Transcript of TSF Locker Campaign
There’s Only “One Mizzou”The very mention of the word “Mizzou” evokes a sense of tradition and work
ethic embodied by one set of core values. These values include academic integrity,
social responsibility and competitive excellence. The essence of these ethics is
carried into competition with the time-honored tradition of the pre-game
motivational message. This ritual is delivered in the locker room prior to facing
your opponent and in the sweetest of victory speeches following a win. Be a part
of the “Team Behind the Team” even after you’ve earned your letter by leaving a
lasting legacy for the elite athletes attending Mizzou. Furthermore, consider
leaving a legacy in honor of a family member or friend who wore the black and
gold. Lock in your sponsorship of a locker, where you have the ability to impart
something special to the next generation.
Don Faurot is carried off of what is now Faurot Field after winning his final game as Head Coach against KU. Faurot was a three-sport letterman from 1922 to 1924, Head Football Coach from 1935 through 1956, served as Athletics Director until 1967, was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1961 and was inducted into the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame in 1990.
The 1964 starting pitching staff of Dennis Musgrave, Keith Weber, Jack Stroud and Jim Nelson. Nelson set an NCAA record with a .65 ERA, and Weber set a Mizzou record with a .56 ERA from 1962 to 1964. The Tigers were runners-up in the 1964 National Championship, and the team was inducted into the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009.
Leave a LegacyYour name and information will
appear on a laser-etched, zinc locker
plaque permanently located on the front of a
locker. Standing 9” tall and 5 ½” wide, each plaque
is personalized with the information from your days
competing in the black and gold. Additionally, you will be
given the opportunity to inscribe a personal message to the
student-athlete who uses that locker every day. By making a
one-time gift or pledge of $1,000, $2,500 or $5,000, (depending
on the sport) you can help keep the legacy alive for future
generations. Become a member of a select group making a
difference in the future of Mizzou Athletics.

You are the key…One key component to the success of Mizzou student-athletes and enjoyment
of fans is the availability of modern athletics facilities. Competing at the
highest level demands continual construction and renovations to the Sports
Park. Mizzou has aggressively expanded its Sports Park while targeting several
areas to create “Champions For Life” on and off the playing field. This pursuit of
excellence has resulted in the renovation of the Mizzou Athletics Training
Complex where locker rooms for baseball, softball, soccer and football were
expanded and/or brought online. Furthermore, the construction of Mizzou
Arena provided much needed improvements for both men’s and women’s
basketball, including first-class player lounges and locker rooms. A state-of-
the-art golden girls and gymnastics Training Facility located South of Memorial
Stadium will provide these teams a proper place to call home. Finally, the golf
teams have relocated their home to The Club at Old Hawthorne, where plans to
construct a new practice facility, including locker rooms, is well underway.
