Welcome...

Dear candidate,

It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to you as you think about joining our team! The people who work with us are our most important asset.

Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust (CAAT) provides a life-changing emergency service to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Our highly-skilled clinical teams, comprising both doctors and paramedics, bring the expertise of the hospital to wherever it is needed. In the last couple of years, we have been able to significantly enhance the service that we offer. We now fly in the hours of darkness, covering 12 hours per day. In addition to the helicopter, we have added two Emergency Response Vehicles which have the same enhanced medical equipment and operate with the same crews as the aircraft.

Looking ahead, we have exciting plans to develop the vital service we offer to residents and visitors to our county, ensuring they are able to benefit from the continued advances in pre-hospital emergency medicine.

Upon joining Cornwall Air Ambulance, you will become part of a dynamic, fast growing family with

an innovative and hardworking team culture where everyone is Proud to be Cornwall Air

Ambulance. We are seeking individuals who have a strong track record in their relevant fields and

who share our passion to make sure we are the very best that we can be – for our patients, our

crews, our supporters, our volunteers and our staff.

If you feel excited by the prospect of helping us to achieve this and have the skill set we are seeking then we would love to hear from you.

Thank you for your interest.

With best wishes, Paula Martin

Chief Executive Officer

Our story...

Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust (CAAT) is an incredibly well supported charity with a strong fundraising base, a highly-experienced leadership team and a confident trustee board.

Based in Newquay, CAAT flies more than 700 missions every year bringing vital emergency medical treatment in minutes to patients across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. It does not receive any government support and relies on the generosity of its supporters.

Taking to the skies in 1987, CAAT was the first air ambulance in the UK. It has now completed more than 26,000 missions, saving countless lives. For the half a million people who call Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly home, as well as the millions who visit the county, Cornwall Air Ambulance is a reassuring presence.

CAAT is on scene on average in just 12 minutes in mainland Cornwall and less than 30 minutes on the Isles of Scilly. The paramedic aircrew provide pre-hospital critical care at the scene of the incident and can go on to fly the patient to specialist hospital units in Cornwall, Devon or Bristol and even as far as Swansea.

CAAT also operates two Advanced Critical Care cars, which have become a vital part of the service. The cars, much like the helicopter, are staffed by one of our critical care paramedics and are equipped with the latest medical devices. The car can be deployed day and night and at the same time as the helicopter to reach more people in serious need.

All our activities across the charity are guided by our mission, vision, values and culture.
