STABILITY

b + r ≥ 2J The truss is Unstable.

DETERMINACY:

b + r = 2J The truss is Determinate.

b + r > 2J The truss is Indeterminate.

If truss is Indeterminate, then

Degree of Indeterminacy (I) = (b+r)-2j
