We enjoy Thanksgiving, football and family. However, I hope that here at Trinity you will add something to the list of words that come to mind when you think of November, and that is the word sacrifice. I am convinced that one of the things God has called Trinity to do that is unique is to take the month of November and set it aside as a month of sacrifice. The intention being that in sacrificing we will hear more clearly and identify better with our Lord. Each November I want us as a church to make a true sacrifice so that you and I may grow spiritually. I remember last year watching as people gave up their cars, sold motorcycles and fasted so that they might grow closer to their Lord. How awesome! Never once did anyone come back and say I wish I had not sacrificed so much. We are just days away and I want to challenge you to decide, if you haven’t already, what God is calling you to sacrifice so that you might grow closer to Him. Here are some thoughts: TV, radio, hobbies, a food or foods, going to bed earlier or getting up earlier, a commitment to read through or memorize a certain part of the Bible, family devotions. Along with this sacrifice, the Sunday before Thanksgiving we will take up an offering that is critical for the health of our church. Last year as a body we took up one of the largest offerings in the history of our church. Were it not for this offering last year there are many ministries that we would have had to relinquish. Therefore, it is imperative that each member listen to what God would have them to give and then give according to God’s leading so that we might advance the Gospel powerfully here at home and around the world. I am praying for God to reveal to us what true sacrifice is about so we can see the joy of giving sacrificially. That joy comes when we see that God is blessed because we have gone without. May that joy be ours as we seek to obey God this November. “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” - Ephesians 5:1-2 Pastor Eddie Jn 3:30 For Emergencies! If you have an emergency after- hours situation, dial 791-0440, ext. 110 and follow the directions. 24 Hour Prayer Line: 794.3335

Redefining November: A Month of Joyful Sacrifice

For most people november is the sure sign of fall. We enjoy Thanksgiving, football and family. however, i hope that here at Trinity you will add something to the list of words that come to mind when

you think of november, and that is the word sacrifice. i am convinced that one of the things God has called Trinity to do that is unique is to take the month of november and set it aside as a month of sacrifice.
