Optimal spectrum rendering Beginning of a new era

Outdoor projects like facades or gardens with architectural highlights require luminaires with standing any weather con­ditions. Such luminaires often use a potting compound to fully encapsulate the LEDs and ensure an IP67 rating. Since the size of the fixtures varies and therefore the thickness of the encap­sulation layer, the color shift of each fixture is not consistent.

With our True Color Technology those issues are eliminated.

LED Linear™ has a color consistency in all True Color luminaires, using the same tape. This is essential for projects with different luminaires which should deliver with the same CCT. After a complete redesign of the luminaire’s inner topology, LED Linear™ was able to protect the LEDs from the polyurethane encapsulation. The result is that every True Color product has just a minimal color shift and a protection class of IP67. The aim was to give a complete lighting solution package of True Color products which covers all outdoor applications.

XOOLUX™ (2008) was the first solid state luminaire commercial­ized by LED Linear™ which implemented “Total Internal Reflec­tion” (TIR) lenses. Back then, XOOLUX™ was the smallest luminaire in its category. For that time it was a revolution as these optics arose with the arrival of the LEDs in the lighting industry. Even though this technology exists since years, it is still implemented by many manufacturers worldwide. Today's technologies enable researchers to produce materials at the atomic scale. LED Linear™ follows that path and reduce the size of the luminaire optics.

NanoRay came to life.

NanoRay is a new technology enabling the engineering and the production of nano structured optics. The size of the structures is comparable to 1/10 of a human hair which enables an absolute control of the lighting distribution, as well as the color over angle.

In order to get these new optics to work at their best, the small­est possible light source is needed. LED manufacturers offered the perfect solution: Chip Scale Package LEDs (CSP). This new generation of LEDs is only 1 x 1 mm and offers many advantag­es such as better thermal management. That means a better lifetime and an outstanding color rendition performances com­pared to previous technologies. With the newest generation of LED – CSP which have a better CRI and R9 value we could start to use these optics. Thanks to this combination LED Linear™ was able to shrink the footprint of their luminaires while improving its performances.

ADONIS TRUE COLORLinear light line for all environments

ADONIS True Color is an opal encapsulated rigid outdoor lumi­naire which is ideal for façade lighting. Translucent end caps enable continuous light lines without any dark spots between the fixtures. To avoid visible cable con nections, ADONIS True Color features a simple cable management on its backside

hiding cables and connectors. One of the most outstanding facts is that the lumi naire is able to deliver up to 2,470 lm/m although it’s opal encapsulated and has a form factor of just 20.5 mm x 25.5 mm. Despite the size ADONIS True Color has a totally homogeneous light surface.

The fixture is directly installed onto the façade to highlight its architectural details. With its soft diffuse light it will be a deco­rative element at night or in the evening hours and pleasant for the human eye.

Another way of using ADONIS True Color is as an ambient light­ing fitting. Thanks to its high lumen output it provides the func­tionality of a downlight. It can also create a decorative pattern by following facades elements.

With the new indoor in­ground channel it can be used for orien­tation lighting inside a building. Since the luminaire is recessed into the ground it is not visible if it’s off. A recessed ADONIS True Color creates an interesting light effect and highlights the architecture and the used material.

KALYPSO TRUE COLORHighlighting architectural details

KALYPSO True Color is a product which is specialized for wall grazing applications to highlight structured surfaces. The lumi­naire is made with a clear encapsulation combined with linear lenses to enable the control of the light distribution. KALYPSO

True Color has 3 different optics (10°, 30° and 60°) for optimal grazing effects. Thanks to the translucent end caps and invisible cabling it is possible to create endless wall grazing light lines.

Compared to traditional wall grazer like spot lights, it is possible to place the luminaire very close to the wall and avoid hotspot effects. This open doors for grazing applications which weren’t able to be illuminated before.

KALYPSO True Color can be mounted up or downwards to create the desired atmosphere.

In either way KALYPSO True Color is easy to integrate into the architectural design because of its compact and functional housing.

Bendable design light lines

After gathering inputs and ideas from the market VENUS True Color now carries on all features which made VENUS a world­wide success with new major benefits. The Top­View variant takes over the applications of its predecessor for 2D bends, perpendicular to the luminous surface. The 3D variant provides a light line which can be twisted or bent in 3 dimensions in order to follow any organic shapes present in modern archi­

tectural concepts. It is bendable in a radius of 150 mm and even twistable of 180°/m. Compared to the previous generation of VENUS the size is reduced to just 18 mm x 17 mm. An improved invisible cabling on the backside of the luminaire makes it eas­ier and enables to put the LED tape from the end cap to end cap, which are translucent. So long dot free light lines which follow curved and twisted shapes are no longer a challenge.

VENUS True Color adapts the shape of a façade and illuminates it dot free. The luminaire is just mounted directly onto the sur­face and it will appear as part of the architectural concept.

Decorative elements with curvy or wave shapes such as profiles or sculptures will turned into an eye­catcher. Thanks to its flex­ibility VENUS True Color can be used in many ways.

Now with the VENUS True Color 3D it is possible to illuminate handrails or spiral staircases with a reliable product. It gives a smooth indirect light which is used for decorative aspects as well as for orientation lighting.

Robust in-ground light line

OCEANOS True Color is LED Linear’s most robust product in the portfolio. It is the first in­ground outdoor luminaire with 2 dif­ferent clear encapsulated lense options (10° and 30°) and an opal encapsulation. There is no product in the market that is drive over resistant (according to DIN EN 60598­13) and gives the option to graze a wall. It is resistant against vandalism, means

the fixture can’t be dismounted with out a special tool. OCEANOS True Color comes in a V4A stainless steel housing and with a separate V4A stainless steel mounting frame available in 2 dif­ferent heights. The mounting frames have a dedicated chamber for the cable and drainage management.

OCEANOS True Color is the best solution for roll over application (according to DIN EN 60598­13) such as parking lots or ho tel driveways which should be illuminated to guide the guests. Whether as a continuous light line or as an intermittent light line.

With the new lenses for the OCEANOS True Color it is now possible to highlight some landscape features or architectural landmarks.

OCEANOS True Color can be used as a wall grazer in tough environment.

XOOLUX™ NANO

XOOLUX™ NANO is tailored for wall grazing application and is able to deliver a maximum lumen output of 2,670 lm/m, even though it’s just 12.5 mm in height. It comes with 3 different light distribution options (15°, 25° and an oval distribution 15° x 40°). The mounting situation is improved by 3 grooves on the side of the profile which allow a tilt of 5° each. In combination with

the 0°, 15° and 30° clip it is possible to adjust the luminaire up to 45° angle to get the desired grazing effect. The quick connectors come directly out of the end cap on the backside of the luminaire. It is available in 4 standard lengths with a maximum length of 1,008 mm.

XOOLUX™ NANO has an IP65 rating which means it can be in-stalled outside in canopied areas or as an uplight in areas where the water won’t stagnate around the luminaire. Thanks to the small form factor it is a nifty solution to elevate spaces with a delicate touch.

It is the right luminaire for a high end hotel lobby with a beau-tiful structured wall behind. With XOOLUX™ NANO it is possible to light up all the structural highlights from the ground and the top to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Exclusive environments, like a waiting room in front of a top management office can be accentuated by wall grazing effects.

Invisible light - high level of design

MARS NANO family is the first family which is equipped entirely with the NanoRay optics. The family members are a recessed, ceiling and pendant version in a rectangular shape and a round version which is called LYRA 36. With the addition of the nano optics the color over angle could be reduced to its minimum. Furthermore there is no LED visible anymore.

Besides the different shapes LED Linear™ offers 4 different beam angles from 15° – 65°. Thanks to its outstanding anti­glare, an UGR of under 13 is reached. With this family a whole building can be illuminated, like a museum:

Starting with the counter which is illuminated with a very deco­rative round luminaire. LYRA 36 is an ideal solution for task lighting.

The first room presents a fascinating sculpture in the dark. The sculpture is the only illuminated object and there is no visible light from the top. MARS NANO recessed sets the accent on the illuminated scene.

Example of applications

Following the corridor to the exhibition room or a parking lot, there is a need for general lighting. With LED Linear’s MARS NANO ceiling and pendant luminaires a high lumen output is given. There is no glare disturbing the whole museum tour. That‘s the MARS NANO family effect!

The linear wall washer – for outstanding performances

Mars Wall Wash is especially designed for wall washing appli­cations. It comes in 6 standard lengths up to 980 mm. The Bartenbach® reflectors create a unreached homogeneous wall illumination and a longitudinal glare reduction. The reflectors

are perfectly integrated into the luminaire design and stick only 10 mm. Thanks to the LED Linear’s Click technology you need almost no tools for its installation .
