    GENERAL INFORMATION

    i) Scheduled courses will be conducted subject to sufficient number of traineesbeing available.

    ii) Duration of a course will be as indicated against it in the schedule of courses.But the duration shown against individual modules in the syllabi is liable to changedepending on various factors.

    iii) If the date of commencement of a course falls on a holiday, it will start on thenext working day.

    iv) Eligibility Criteria for admission to different courses are relaxable at thediscretion of the Additional Surveyor General, IISM.

    v) Special / Customized courses shall be conducted in order to fulfill specificrequirements of user organizations provided at least 6 trainees are sponsored for aparticular course.

    vi) Nomination / Application for admission to a course should reach the Additional

    Surveyor General, IIS&M normally 60 days before the scheduled date of commencement ofthe Course. Trainees are advised to report in the Institute only on receiving confirmationabout the allotment of seat.

    vii) Tuition Fee has to be paid in advance by Demand Draft drawn in favour ofThe Establishment & Accounts Officer, Indian Institute of Surveying & Mapping,Survey of India on Hyderabad Branch of any nationalized bank, preferably Union Bankof India. If the tuition fee is not paid in advance or simultaneously with joining, the traineewill not be admitted.

    viii) Requirement of Hostel Accommodation needs to be intimated to the AdditionalSurveyor General, IIS&M (Attention : Hostel Warden), sufficiently in advance throughseparate letter. Boarding and Lodging expenses for a trainee will be approximately Rs.

    3,500/- per month, which is in addition to the tuition fee.

    ix) Non-departmental / private candidates also can be admitted to a course subjectto availability of seats, fulfilling the eligibility criteria and payment of tuition fee fixed fromtime to time. Interested candidates should apply on the prescribed proforma given in thisbook.

    x) Each trainee reporting for Courses involving field training outside the IIS&MCampus should arrange for himself camp cots and bedding for use in the Camp which isnormally established about 40 km away from Hyderabad. Similarly, the service of a cookwill be available to the trainees, in the Camp; but necessary utensils, cookware and otherprovisions are to be arranged by the trainees themselves.

    xi) A foreign national seeking admission to a course in IIS&M needs to besponsored by the Government of his country or has to route his application through theIndian mission in his country.
