Water and sewage are available. Thefee for campers is $25.00 a night with electric hook-up. Soccer Invitational entersits fifteenth year with

high expectations. Lastyear’s tournament wasthe largest in the historyof the event with 320teams from six states.The tournament hasexpanded to 5 sites:Duke Park, Archer Park,Ferguson in Troy; KylePark in Tipp City; andPitsenbarger Park inPiqua. Over the courseof the two day event, vis-itors are estimated tobring in over three milliondollars of additional rev-

enue in total to the threecities.Both boys and girls

teams, ages 8-18 willparticipate in the USYSAsanctioned event. A dedi-cated committee of 25,and more than 200 vol-unteers contribute to thesuccess of the event.The tournament is a

fund raiser for the TroySoccer Club, the TroyHigh School SoccerParents and other sportsorganizations who partic-ipate in volunteers. Inaddition to direct gifts tothese organizations, aseparate scholarship forTroy High School seniorswho have played one ormore years in a Troybased soccer organiza-tion is also funded. Over$30,000 has beenawarded in scholarships.Additionally, the tourna-ment was able to fundthe purchase of soccerequipment for both thecity as well as the TroyCity Schools.Even if you don’t

Bed RacesFriday, June 1, 2012 - 7:00p.m.

Rules and Guidelines1. Bed must resemble a household bed and measure no less than 3’x6’ and no more than 6’x8’ (width x length) and be rectangular inshape. Bed must have four (4) functional wheels and all wheels must be in contact with the road surface at all times.Teams shall consist of: one (1) rider, four (4) pushers and (1) alternate. Team members must be at least 18 years of age.The bed rider must wear protective head gear.

2. There will be a test of the team’s agility as well as the race against the clock.The race will be run in heats of two (2) beds each.

3. Check in for teams and beds will be held between 5:15 pm and 6:15 pm the evening of thebed race. The check in area will be located in the Hobart parking lot on the levy. You willhave a spot for your vehicle and trailer reserved.

4. Races will begin at 7:00 pm and be run by Division; Men only, Women only, Open andMasters age (35+). Age verification may be required.

5. Trophies will be given to first, second and third place finishers in each Division. A trophy will be given for best decorated bed andbest team theme.

6. A bed may be entered in more than one Division.7. The application and waiver must be completed and returned with the $35.00 application fee by May 28, 2012.

Diaper DerbyIf you love babies, an unpredictable competition, a Queen and her court, mixed

with some strawberries - then we have an event for you! The Strawberry FestivalDiaper Derby features babies crawling across a carpet to win one of three top prizes.Babies must be under 1 year old and must crawl. If they stand up and walk, they aredisqualified.Six heats are run with six babies per heat grouped by age in months. One parent

or relative is allowed on the start side and one on the finish side. Parents/relativesmay use anything to entice the baby to crawl to them, but the parent/relative muststay off the carpet. The babies must crawl across and off the carpet to qualify. Someitems that have been used are car keys, TV remote, toys, etc. The winners of the first6 heats, then compete in the final heat for the top 3 prizes. Last year’s winners were1st Place – Rhyea Clark; 2nd Place – Waylon Myers, and 3rd Place – Landon Knisley.The interaction of the babies with each other and the experience make things

humorous and totally unpredictable. The Strawberry Festival Queen and her Courtassist with the event in scoring and handing out participation certificates.Many babies come dressed in strawberry or the theme of the year clothing. This

year’s theme “Mardi Gras Berries” will prove to be a colorful choice.This year’s event will be held Sunday at noon on the west stage. Enter your baby,

or come and watch the fun!

Sunday may be the last day ofthe festival, but it’s full of morefood, fun and entertainment thanyou can imagine! The excitementcontinues with competitions,shows, entertainment and anotheropportunity to sample tasty straw-berry treats and get an early starton your holiday gift buying. Thefestival site opens at 10:00AM andfinal ceremonies close the festivalat 6:00PM. Rain or shine, laissezles bon temps rouler! (Let thegood times roll!)
