(AUSTRALIA) TROJAN LED COMBINATION LIGHT FITTING INSTRUCTIONS The Trojan LED submersible light is a durable unit that has been designed and manufactured so it can be easily and simply fitted. The mounting bolt locations have been specifically positioned to interchange with most commonly used lamps. For the majority of applications the light simply needs to be fixed into position and the wire cut to length and connected to a plug. These lamps are dual voltage 12v & 24v. The LED lights are fitted with a removable polycarbonate lens, which only needs to be removed to change the fixing bolt locations if necessary. Please do not remove otherwise.To change the location of the fixing bolts firstly remove the lens. To do this, use a large coin or an instrument with a thick, wide blade. Place it in the slots between the body and the lens and twist it slowly and carefully. (Do not use a screwdriver as they are not suitable and damage can result.) The circuit board then needs to be removed to allow access to the heads of the fixing bolts. To do this carefully remove the six Phillips head screws holding the circuit board to the base and move the fixing bolts to the desired new locations. Refit the circuit board followed by the lens. The light should be fixed to a flat firm vertical surface, so the LED circuit board does not endure any distortion or strain when fitted. (Using rivets to fix this light is not advised. The high pressure that rivets can apply during their clamping/fitting procedure can cause excess loads on the lamp body) Do not over tighten fixing bolts and nuts. The right hand light is fitted with licence plate illumination. This light has two directions of illumination so the licence plate can be mounted either horizontally or vertically. The means of activating the selected licence plate light is attained by the selection of the appropriate wire that is connected to the connector plug at the draw bar. Either of the two brown wires will activate the licence plate as well as the taillights; decide whether the licence plate is to be mounted horizontally or vertically, select the plain brown wire for illumination when the licence plate is mounted in the horizontal position, or the brown wire with a white trace line if the licence plate is to be mounted vertically. For best illumination results of the licence plate, endeavour to mount the licence plate centrally in relation to the licence plate light lens. It is most important that both lights are mounted horizontally as shown. We recommend the use of a Trail Com rubber licence plate mounting system. P/N 535081 Your LED light has 9 meters of colour coded wire loom. Please ensure this loom is securely fastened to your trailer and that it will not come into contact with moving parts, the ground surface, or pinched in any suspension items. This loom should be cut to the correct length before fitting the plug. Please ensure extra length is allowed for so the plug can make contact with the car connector. A Trojan Plug Holder P/N 362085 or 362087 should be used to support the plug when not connected to the tow vehicle. ***NOTE - Some Europeon vehicles such as Mercedes Benz, BMW, Volvo etc., may require additional attention when wiring these lamps. Wiring Colour Codes
Left-hand turn yellow Earth return white Right-hand turn green Stop red Rear lamps, licence plate plain brown, to be used when the licence plate is mounted in the horizontal position. brown with a white trace line to be used when the licence plate is mounted in the vertical position. Note** this instruction is only applicable to the right hand lamp. Note** the lamps should always be mounted horizontally.
Options
Trail Com have available a Trojan Flexible Licence plate Mount 535081 Round amber 12v/24v clearance lights 2383. (Do not retain with rivets). Optional white licence plate lights
Part numbers 2387 (right hand) and 2388 (left hand).
These lamps have been tested and have met the following ADR requirements:
ADR 49/00 Rear position lamp ADR 49/00 Cat. S1 stop lamp ADR 6/00 Cat. 2A Indicator lamp ADR 48/00 Licence plate illumination
In order for both these lamps to comply with ADR 13/00 installation details, they must be mounted horizontally on a flat surface vertical to the ground, and right angles to the longitudinal axis of the trailer. See drawings below:
