Helvetica is a feature-length independent lm about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. It looks at the proliferation of one type-face (which will celebrate its 50th birthday in 2007) as part of a larger conver-sation about the way type affects our lives. The lm is an exploration of ur-ban spaces in major cities and the type that inhabits them, and a uid discus-sion with renowned de-signers about their work, the creative process, and the choices and aesthetics behind their use of type.

    Growing and Utilizing Lavender Successfully

The two basic requirements for successfullavender growing are full sun and good

drainage. The best soil is a well-drained, grittyor sandy loam. In wetter or more clay-basedsoils lavender can be grown successfully on

mounds. Lavender will not tolerate wet feet orpoor drainage.
