Te aim o this event is tobring together students and experts related to oil and gas industry to present their results, andexchange experience, ideas, and solutions regarding oil and gas problems in theoretical andpractical aspects by discussions, seminars, company workshop, and re reshing competitions.Beyond its technical and scientic goals, another main purpose o Oil Expo is to strengthenthe kinship and riendship among students between universities and the Oil and Gas industryexperts.

By now, weve all heard, read, or said enough about the rapid pace o economic advancein Asia. Energy will be the vital point to ensure the economic progression o this region. Oiland gas industry still playing the big role as the current energy main source is still dominatedby petroleum. Furthermore, as young people who related to oil and gas sector, it is our re-sponsibility to concern and show our commitment regarding environmental issue. INTRODUCTION


Nowadays, Indonesia is a country thathas a substantial energy demands. It is affectedby economic growth and increasing domesticindustrial production in term o the number.Indonesia has been trans ormed rom agricul-tural-based state to provide a larger portionto services and manu acturing industries. In reality, a disappointment that this matter does notget in line with the energy provision to meet the energy demands o the people o Indonesia

Te real examples o this matter can be seen rom a airly complicated problem in thesociety li e, such as the lack o uel supply in some regions, towns and cities. Some remote areaso the archipelago have not had a sufficient power supply. Te problem existed due to lack ogood energy processing and management.

Master Plan o Indonesias Economic Acceleration and Expansion (MP3EI) was pro-

claimed to bring people o Indonesia to the state o independent, advanced, righteous, andprosperous in 2025. Te linkage between the energy sectors and economic growth is one as-pect o the MP3EI. What should be noted is that energy demand will likely to increase rom 3million Barell Oil Equivalent (BOE) to 9 million BOE in 2025. o con orm to this demand, weneed good governance to the integration and harmonization o energy resources rom the Oiland Gas sector, both conventional and unconventional, coal, and the renewable energy.

Decision making related to MP3EI has created a new paradigm, which are the relation-ships between energy, economy, and environment. Tis is the response o increasing energy

consumption to serve the economic growth while taking into account the preservation o theenvironment.

When the various energy resources in the country were properly managed, it will createa balance between energy production and consumption that equitable or all Indonesian peo-ple. Te cooperation and support between the energy industries and government would createa conducive and constructive atmosphere or energy, economic, and environmental sectors.

OIL EXPO is the biggest annually event held by BPHMJ P, themed Oil and Gas

Sectors Role in Providing the Energy or a Prosperous and Green Future. Tis event will ex-amine and discuss Indonesias energy issues in the orm o discussions, seminars, competitions,and others to nd solutions and realization o energy supply to meet the needs o the commu-nity.

RULES OF SMART COMPETITION


1) GENERAL RULES AND REGULA IONSo Tis competition is open to any invited students related to Oil and Gas Industry.

o All universities must submit the completed registration orm or the event.o Each university only can submit maximum 2 (two) teams.o All presentations, verbal communications, written documentation, and the

competition itsel will be in English.o Competition rules are subject to change. Any rules changes, clarications, and/

or addenda will be announced to all participating schools and during the teammeeting be ore the competition.

2) GAME FORMAo Te games will be single elimination in which three teams compete against each

other. Te winning team (team with most points at end o the round) willadvance to the next round.

o Tere will be a minimum o three rounds o competition.

3) PAR ICIPAN So Competition is open to any student that dominate science o petroleum industry

and geothermal such as Petroleum Engineering, Geophysic, Geology,Petrochemical.

o All participants must be student o their university.o A team consists o 3 players who meet all eligibility requirements. Each team

shall designate a team captain.o Each university can send its representatives o maximum 2 teams.o Players and schools are responsible or any liability arising rom their counduct

while at the tournament. Any purpose ul act o dishonesty or an act which doesnot con orm to the spirit o the competition, observed by tournament official,will be considered cause or expulsion rom the competition. Please re er toEthics and Conduct section.

4) OURNAMEN OFFICIALSo Judges: Each game will have three judges. Judgess decisions concerning

compliance to the rules and awarding o points will be nal.o Moderator: Each game will have a moderator. Tere may be two moderators to

share the responsibility. Te moderator(s) will read the questions, consult judges as needed to determine the correctness o answers, award and deduct points,

and otherwise en orce the rules o competition.o Scorekeeper: Each game will have at least one scorekeeper. Te scorekeeper(s)

will keep the official score and individual statistics. Games will not be considerednal until the scorekeeper has declared the official score.

o imekeeper: Each game will have one timekeeper. Te timekeeper will en orcetime limits and supervise the game clock.

5) EQUIPMEN

o Te games will be played such that each team in the current game has abuzzer an electronic device determining which participant buzzes in toanswer a question rst.* Each team is responsible or monitoring whether their own buzzer is

operating properly throughout the game. * I a buzzer mal unctions, only the current toss-up question or the last

completed. o oss-up question can be replayed, subject to the moderators ruling that the

mal unction impacted play o that question.o imed games will use a clock clearly visible to the teams.o Participants will be provided paper and pencils.o Calculators will be provided by Committee. o ensure airness, competitors will

use only the provided calculators.o Participants may not use re erence materials during the game.

6) IMEo Te clock shall not stop, except :

* When stopped by a tournament official to resolve a problem or to replace

a question.* At the end o the hal or game. * When a moderator needs extra questions because o replacement o questions or overtime.

o Te clock used by the time keeper is the official time and is not contestable.o Te rst round o the game consists o two halves o where the rst hal is 3

minutes and the second hal is at least 10 minutes o each 3 sessions.o Te second round o the game will be allocated at least 25 minutes or each 3

sessions. o Te nal round o the game consists o two halves o where the rst hal is

10 minutes and the second hal is at least 20 minutes and extra time or the betting question.

o For rst and nal round, on the rst hal , the clock starts when the moderatorsay to start answer while second hal begins when the moderator start readingthe rst toss-up question. For the second round, the time begins when themoderator start the rst toss-up question.

7) QUES IONSo Te game consists o 3 (three) questions:

* Compulsory Questions* Toss-Up Questions

* Bonus Questions* Betting Questions

o On the rst round, each session will have ve same compulsory question to beanswered rom each group in about 3 minutes maximum. Next, there will be10 toss-up questions up to be answered using buzzer system where astest group

to sound the buzzer gets to answer rst.o I the rst team answered wrong, either one o the two remaining teams get to

answer the question. Te question will be announced once again. I both twoteams give the wrong answer, there will be no point on that question.

o On the second round, it will only have 7 compulsary questions, 10 toss-upquestions and there will be 10 bonus questions i the team get a correct answer.Each session using the same buzzer system as in the rst round.

o On the nal round, nalist need to answer 10 compulsary questions and15 toss-up questions and 15 bonus questions using buzzer system. At the end othe nal round, there will be a betting question. Each team will bet a number

o points regarding their point, any right or wrong answer will be amounted totheir points depends on their betting.

A. Compulsary Questions o Each team is given 5 compulsory questions which must be answered

o I the team can answer the compulsory question the team will get10 points and i the team cannot answer or answer the questionincompletely the team will not get the points or add points. I the answer

wrong then there is no point reduction. B. oss Up Questions A player may signal to answer a toss-up question at any point a er the

moderator has begun reading the question. Only one player per team maysignal to answer each toss-up.

When a player has signaled, a game o cial will recognize the player byname, or by number, or by pointing toward the player. Tere is no penaltyi a player who has signaled answers be ore being recognized.

If a player signals before the moderator has nished reading, the moderator will stop at that point. I the answer given is incorrect, themoderator will nish the question or the other team only. Te moderatorwill not reread the entire question, bt should resume at a natural point inthe question.

An answer to a toss-up must begin within 5 seconds a er the player hasbeen recognized. An answer begun afer the moderator has said imewill be treated as no answer

Players have 5 seconds to signal a er the moderator has nished reading

the toss-up. I the player answers incorrectly, the other team (i it iseligible to answer), will then have ve more seconds to signal. Somequestions may permit more time, which will be noted specically by thequestion.

Decisions as to whether players have exceeded the allotted time to signalor to answer may be rendered only by the game officials o a given matchand are not contestable.

C. Bonus Questions Team will get a bonus question if the answer is right in toss-up

questions. On bonus questions, the team captain will give the answer or explicitly designate another team member to give the answer. Any other players

answer will not be accepted. A team has 20 seconds to answer a bonus question. e 20 secondsstarts when the moderator nishes reading the question. I themoderator is asked to repeat the question the time will still becounting down. Afer 20 seconds, the moderator will prompt the team

or an answer. Once prompted, the team captain (or the team member he designates) must immediately begin answering or or eit the

opportunity to answer. A team may begin its answer before the moderator is nished reading

all o a bonus question. In such cases, the moderator stops readingwhen the team begins its answer. I the bonus contains another part,and the rst part was answered correctly, the moderator then reads the

next part o the question. Each bonus question is worth up to 10 points. Questions are intended to test the contestants knowledge of petroleum

engineering and the petroleum industry. Questions may includehistory, trivia, current events, technical questions, calculations, andproblem solving.

D. Betting Questions At the end of the nal round, there will be a betting question. Each team will bet a number o points regarding their point, any right or wrong

answer will be amounted to their points depends on their betting. Temaximum score is depend on each teams score.

8) CORREC ANSWERSo Te moderator will accept only the rst answer given by a player.o I a question requires multiple answers, a player may provide the

responses in any order (unless otherwise specied), without a pause omore than 3 seconds between responses.

9) E HICS AND CONDUCo All players, institutional representatives, and other persons associated

with a team are bound by an honour code to behave responsibly andethically. Tis includes, but not limited to : treating all participants,attendees, and officials with courtesy, not receiving or giving

impermissible assistance, not creating the temptation or another to cheat,abiding by all decisions o the tournament officials, not colluding withanother person to x a match result, not intentionally throwing amatch, honestly reporting details o game situations to tournamentofficials, and promptly reporting violations o this honor code to atournament officials.

o Any tournament official may nd that a player, coach, institutionalrepresentative, or other person associated with a team during thetournament has committed misconduct. Misconduct includes disruptive

behavior, unethical behavior, any violation o the honor code, or otherunsportsman like conduct. Officials may interpret these categories at their disrection.

o Major in raction and/or repeated in ractions may result in ejection or an individual nd/or disqualication or a team at the disrection o

tournament officials.

1. EN RANCE REQUIREMEN So Only students enrolled as ull-time students are eligible to participate in the

contest. Te denition o ull-time is determined by the students university. o I the student has already earned a degree, it must have been less than nine

2. EN RANCE PROCEDURESEach participant must adhere to the procedures and deadlines established by the

student paper contest host.

3. RULES ON FORM AND CON EN OF PRESEN A ION/PAPERo Only single-author presentation/papers are eligible. Te denition o

single- author is a student that has contributed signicantly to thepresentation/paper even though other researchers or contributors may havebeen involved. Researchers and contributors must be acknowledged withinthe paper and presentation, but not as an author.

1. EN RANCE REQUIREMEN So Only students enrolled as ull-time students are eligible to participate in the

contest. Te denition o ull-time is determined by the students university.Majoring Petroleum Engineering and Geology Engineering.

o I the student has already earned a degree, it must have been less than ninemonths be ore the contest.

o Each universities only can submit maximum 2 (two) teams. o Each team consists o maximum 2 (two) persons.

2. EN RANCE PROCEDURESEach participant must adhere to the procedures and deadlines established by thestudent paper contest host.

3. RULESo Posters should demonstrate the latest issue and technology in O&G Industry.

General knowledge related to the industry is possible, as well. o Options or the themes are available, which are: geology, reservoir, evaluation

formation, drilling, and production. o Design o artwork is all up to participants imagination and creativity. Please

notice that artworks description along with the explanation should be includedin the poster.

o Artwork must include OIL EXPO, risakti University, and ParticipantsUniversity.

o Posters should be graphically atractive and use a dynamic message. o Poster should be no larger than A0 paper size (85 cm x 120 cm). o Participants should provide 2 (two) artworks that will be displayed in

exhibitions panel booth. o Te size o panel booth provided by committee is 1 m x 2 m .
