In Loving Memory of Violet White

For Violet, 2013 became very difficult when her husband of 74 years had to move from their home in Seaford into a care home for dementia patients in Eastbourne.

Relying on family members to bring them back together at visiting hours, Violet dreaded losing her independence and CTLA Community Transport were able to step up and help Violet and her family by taking her with the Travel Club members who were visiting the Arndale Centre.

Jay Prentice, Violet's daughter, describes CTLA's support as a 'life-line' for her mother and gives credit to the other passengers on the bus for chatting with Violet on the way to and from her visits which could sometimes be difficult and draining for her.

Sadly, in April, Violet passed away and her family asked for donations in her memory to be made to CTLA Community Transport as an acknowledgement for the extra mile we were happy to go to help reunite a wonderful couple.£540 was received, for which we gratefully thank Violet's family and friends, and every penny will go towards meeting the need that public transport leaves unmet. Fighting loneliness, isolation and promoting inclusion and well-being.
