TRIP TO BADRINATH, A HOLY TOWN IN THE HIMALAYAS, INDIA.

Started from NewDelhi.Temple of Vaikuntanatha swamy.

First halt @ Rishikesh

Had a dip @ the Ganges.

Visited the Ram Jhula & the Laxman jhula. (hanging bridge)

Visited the temple @ the banks.

Did shopping. Crystals & pearls strings.

Then proceeded towards DevPrayag.

To form The Holy confluence Devprayag

CLIMBED UP SOME 100 ODD STEEP STEPS TO VISIT THE TEMPLE@ THE TOP

It is the temple of Sri Purushotaman, one of the 108 Divya desam.

Then we proceeded to Srinagar .

And had our lunch..

Enjoying the beauty of nature..

Left for Pipalkote

• Driving thru the beautiful Valley of Srinagar..

Reaching Pipalkote.

Spent the night at Pipalkote

Started early next day to Joshimath.

Enjoyed the sunrise and the moonset!!

Climbing up to Joshimath

Morning sun shining on the peaks..

Reaching the town of Joshimath

Visited the holy shrine of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha

Also visited an old temple of

sri vasudevar.

Left Joshimath…

Started the uphill climb towards Badri, crossing Vishnu prayag..

Watched awestuck, the locals climbing the steep hill with ease, as we waited for the gate to open.

Traveled the most dangerous stretch of the trip, with prayers & thumping heart and adrenaline

rushing..

Forgot everything when the snow clad peak suddenly appeared in between two mountains!!

A feeling of peaceful bliss filled as we watched the frozen river from the peak unfolded in front of us.

The holy town, Badrinath tucked between two giant hills..

Visited Mana the last Indian village in this Indo-China-Tibet border.

Saw the origin of sacred river Saraswathi, which can rarely be sighted elsewhere..

Started the journey back to the plains early the next day..

Again traveling by the dangerous mountain terrain..

Had the luxury of enjoying the beautiful Himalayan sunset, by the glacier river

Alaknanda..

Reached the plains to see the early morning Ganges @ Haridwar

Completed the journey with a dip in Ganges @Haridwar.

Attended the Maha aarathi in the evening.

With the beautiful Manasa devi temple at sunset as the background..

Had a bite at the local sweet

Reached New Delhi airport the next morning..

And flew back home..
