Do you have a special talent you can share? Do you have a passion for cooking, sewing, gardening, woodworking, car maintenance, arts and crafts? Would you consider sharing this passion with the school age kids this summer over the course of a few days or a week? We are in need of several items, including empty, clean, vegetable cans, empty PRINGLES containers, yarn (any type and color), empty salt shakers, plastic jars (such as empty peanut butter), empty metal coffee cans, cloth type table cloth, marbles, board games and a Lasso rope (yes, you read correctly!) See the website for a list of needs. Check out the summer page on our website for more information at www.trinityct.org/summercamp. ATTENTION SEWERS—Can you find time to make some little dresses and britches for children around the world who are in need? Check out the display outside the Youth Lounge for information on what we need. If you prefer to do your own returns, we accept your proceeds or returnable slips. A list of needs is available on the bulletin board in the church foyer. If you have any questions, contact Sally Buss at [email protected]. The last collection date will be Saturday/Sunday, June 4/5. >SCHOOL AND EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER MISS ROUDOLPH ACCEPTED A CALL-Miss Erin Rudolph received a call from Faribault Lutheran School in Faribault, MN back in April. After much prayer and discernment, she announced that God has led her toaccept the call to teach 6th Grade at Faribault Lutheran School. She will be moving to Minnesota sometime this summer. She is an excellent teacher, and we will miss her as she follows God’s leading in her life. We are seeking to begin the process very soon to find a new 5th Grade teacher for next year. Anyone interested should provide a resume and cover letter to Julian Petzold, Principal, by Friday, May 20, 2016. SPECIAL CHAPEL SERVICE—On May 25 at the end of chapel, Trinity Lutheran School will receive an award as the first ever Michigan District Exemplary School. Dr. Bruce Braun will be here giving us the award, and he has asked that as many parents as possible be present to witness us getting the award. Take time to make it if at all possible. WALK-A-THON—The school’s annual walk-a-thon is scheduled for the morning of Friday, May 27. Students will walk five miles to raise money for school enhancement projects, including carpet and possibly drinking fountains as well as a 10 percent gift to breast cancer research in honor of Mrs. Beth Chaiser and Mrs. Sandy Knopf who successfully battled breast cancer this year. $100 FOR STUDENTS— Each week on Wednesday, Trinity has CEF Stamps available for purchase so students can develop and grow a savings account for their future. At the end of each month, there is a drawing using all the names of the students that participated during that months’ time. Thrivent will provide a $100 prize on June 8 for our drawings. REMAINING CHAPEL OFFERINGS support Groundwork Guatemala. The offering will support Trinity’s sponsored students in Guatemala. Encourage your student to bring in their chapel offering each Wednesday until the end of the year. BAND INSTRUMENTS WANTED—The school is looking to have as many instruments on-hand for our band students to use by creating a donation program that provides each band member an instrument. We have a few instruments that the school owns, but the majority of our families have to rent them each year. If you have an instrument to donate, please bring it to the school office. Please call Julian Petzold at 586-468-8511 if you have any questions. HELP NEEDED FOR FIELD DAY—Field day is a wonderful event for the students which is traditionally held at the end of the school year. This year, Field Day is in the afternoon on June 9 This event requires MANY volunteers to make it work smoothly! Please call the school office to put your name on the list to help.
