>ENGAGE GOD AMERICAN IDOLS -“American Idols” We all have idols; false gods. We don’t mean to but we do. The 1st Commandment tells us to have “no other gods.” This 5-week series begins today as we explore a variety of “American Idols” that seek to push Jesus out of the center of our lives and which get in the way of faithfully following Him. MARK YOUR CALENDARS—Trinity will once again have outdoor worship once a month during the summer. The dates June 26, July 31 and Aug. 28. HOW CAN WE BE SERVANT LEADERS LIKE JESUS? Come, be reminded of our real identity – in Christ!, talk about what exactly a “Christ-like Servant Leader” is, and explore how this could begin to change the look of our homes, workplaces, and community. Learn how we can live out our faith, no matter our background or circumstance, and hear from people who have already

begun this intentional journey. Thursday, June 23, 6:30*-8:30 pm, Church Lounge. *Deli foods available starting at 6 p.m., free-will offering. PLEASE sign up at the Welcome Center or email [email protected] for food count. NEW SUNDAY ADULT BIBLE CLASS - ALL THE PLACES TO GO - Very rarely in the Bible does God command someone to “Stay.” He opens a door, and then he invites us to walk through it — into the unknown. Starts Sunday, June 12, 9:30 a.m. Location: Church Lounge. consider Family of God. Trinity has been a supporter of Family of God in Detroit for many years. Family of God is making an impact in many people’s lives by bringing the Good News of Christ to those who are poor, hungry, and homeless. We help by serving dinners at Family of God one Wednesday a month. Our Men’s Bible Study and Lifetree Café coordinate the dinners on alternating months. Our upcoming schedule for serving dates is: June 22, July 13 and August 24. If you would like to be a part of this by contributing a casserole dish that would feed approximately 20 people, desserts like cookies or cupcakes, a monetary contribution or a time contribution i.e. helping to cook and/or serve please contact Brian Lanko at 586-350-0444 or email [email protected] or Pam Jones at 586-790-2004 or email [email protected]. The mission is always in need of paper products, hygiene products and diapers of all sizes. QUILTERS WANTED—The Trinity Quilters for Lutheran World Relief meet the third Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Center. Upcoming meetings include June 21, July 19, Aug. 16, Sept. 20, Oct. 18, and Nov. 15. Bring a brown bag lunch. BOTTLE/CAN RECYCLING DRIVE TODAY and JUNE 25/26—Trinity’s Groundwork Guatemala mission team is collecting returnable cans and bottles to purchase supplies. Just bag them up and team members will collect them from your car along the sidewalk between the church and the Community Center before and after services. If you prefer to do your own returns, we accept your proceeds or returnable slips. A list of needs is available on the bulletin board in the church foyer. If you have any questions, contact Sally Buss at [email protected]. STOCK THE SHELVES—On the first Saturday/Sunday of each month, the Food Pantry volunteers will be collecting donations outside the church entrances. The food pantry needs shampoo, dish soap, laundry soap, deodorant, soap, boxed potatoes, pancake mix, syrup and canned fruit. Donations can also be left in the hallway near the nursery or the Church Office.

>SCHOOL AND EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER WALKATHON THANKS—Thank you to all the students and parents who helped raise money for the Walk-a-thon last week Friday. The total amount of money raised is $27,457. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED—On Thursday, June 9 at 3:30pm, we need adult volunteers to help move items out of classrooms in order to get ready for the installation of the new carpet.
