THIS WEEK AT TRINITY February 1723, 2018 Experience Worship with Us! This is the First Sunday of Lent. Pastor Eric Riesen will preach at the 6:30 Folk, 8:30 Sanctuary, & 10:45 Praise Services. Pastor Michael Koch will preach at the 10:45 Sanctuary Service. Join us as together we praise God and hear His Word for our living. Trinity Lutheran Church, 508 Center Street, Ashland, OH 44805 419-289-2126 www.trinityashland.org OUR 10:45 RADIO BROADCAST on WNCO-AM 1340 is sponsored by Tanya Slagle, in memory of her son, Guy. THE SANCTUARY ALTAR FLOWERS this weekend are given by: Roger and Sandy Speck, in honor of their five grandchildren: Emily, Sarah, Leah, Max, and Anna; Todd and Janet Barr, and family, in memory of Elaine Rogers, and in honor of her birthday; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kemery, and fami- ly, in memory of Wilbur and Grace Kemery, Wendell Biddinger, and Roberta Putt; and Madeline Cole, and family, in memory of Bill Cole. LENTEN VESPERS BEGIN THIS WEEK In addition to our regular weekend worship, please take a little extra time dur- ing Lent and join us for worship at the evening Lenten Vespers. Beginning on Thursday, February 22, and continuing through Thursday, March 22, we will offer Lenten Vespers at 6:00 p.m. A short meditation will be included, the first week given by Pastor Michael Koch. In the following weeks talks will be deliv- ered by Trinity youth director Matthew McClain, and guests, including Dr. John Jordan and Dr. Ron Sprunger. After the service, for those who can stay, there will be time for questions and conversation about the sermon. This is a great Lenten discipline. The theme for the services will be on the topic of prayer. Each week, we will focus on a different as- pect of prayer. How do we pray? What about unanswered prayer? Do you ever feel like no one is listening when you pray? Does prayer change Gods mind? Or, does prayer change us? These are some of the questions we will consider together. We hope you will join us! FOOD BANK COLLECTION IS NEXT WEEKEND, February 24 & 25! We are truly grateful for every can, box, bag, and truckload of non- perishables that you donate here. As you know, our food bank is really unique in that we are solely supported by our community of churches, organizations, clubs, businesses, and individuals. Your support helps put food on the tables of so many families in our county who struggle with food insecurity. Thank you for your efforts to help us do just that! Stay warm and God bless ~ Rosemarie Donley, Director Items needed this month: Potatoes-fresh, Pancake Mix and Syrup, Boxed Cereals, Graham Crackers or Granola Bars, Jell-O or Pudding Snack Packs, Juice Boxes, Tea Bags, Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Mustard and Ketchup, Brownie Mixes, Shampoo and Conditioner, Dish Soap, Toilet Paper, Laundry Soap, Razors, Kleenex, and Paper Towels.

Operation Christmas Child Are you wondering where our shoe boxes went? Some of our boxes went to Colum-bia and the rest went to hard-to-reach areas in other countries. (For the safety of the ministry partners living in these restricted areas, Samaritan’s Purse cannot di-vulge the names of the countries.) Now it is time to start collecting for next November!! February’s theme is hats, gloves,

and scarves! Remember they have to fit in a shoe box! There are collection boxes in every chil-dren’s Sunday school room.
