The new season of music and worship is here, and it’s a wonderful time of music making, fellowship and worship for all. We have record numbers in the Sanctuary Choir already, but it’s not too late to be part of the Cantata Choir on November 13. We have already started work on all the music for the cantata, which will feature a 25-piece Trinity Orchestra, the Sanctuary Choir and professional guest soloists. The choir will be rehearsing the cantata music every Wednesday, 7:15-8:00 p.m. Talk to Mark about being a part of this inspiring event.

Once again Trinity to so blessed to have the large numbers of people willing to share their musical gifts and talents with their church family. If you are interested in sharing your gifts, please speak with Mark and find out how you can get involved.

Contact Mark with any questions at [email protected].

Financial Update through August

Thank you for your financial support of Trinity. Your giving is vital to fund core worship and educational programming, and supports our ongoing local and global outreach ministries.

August giving was almost $2,900, or 5% over budget, reducing our year to date shortfall to ($19,000), or (2.6%) below budget. This giv-ing shortfall continues to be offset by prudent staff expense manage-ment. The Finance Committee encourages all members to stay cur-rent on your pledge or regular giving if you didn’t pledge. An easy way to stay current is to sign up for Simply Giving, our automated electronic giving program. Contact Rindee Erdmann, Finance Man-ager, at 952-473-8577 x136 or [email protected] to sign up.

Seeds of Hope Sponsorship—El Salvador Since 2012, Trinity members have been sponsoring the education of 78 youth in El Salvador through the Seeds of Hope program, 4 University; 74 K-12. For many of the children served by the Lutheran Church in El Salvador, their families are too poor to send them to school. Though attending school is free, the entrance to school is limited to those who can afford to pay for a uniform, shoes, supplies, textbooks and transportation. The financial support by our sponsors helps to make education a reality.

In addition to the financial support, students and sponsors exchange letters several times a year. During the month of October, we hope you will take time to stop by the display in the narthex to learn more about this program and consider sponsoring a student in school.

On November 6 from 4-6 pm at Family of Christ, Chanhassen, sponsors of the 350 students will gather for a celebration, to share stories and hear about the impact and difference a sponsorship makes in the lives of the children & families.

For specific questions about the program, please feel free to contact Julie Morrison, Camille Pearson Walz, Ruth Bash, Lori Anderson, Eleana Bann, Marta Keane or Jill Cornell.

NOTE: Renewing sponsors may pick up their 2017 student information packets starting Oct. 2.

The ReSale 101 store at Interfaith Outreach & Com-munity Partners just celebrated it’s 5th anniversary at the end of September. Thanks to many people from Trinity who volunteer their time at the store to help make it a success for IOCP helping to support the families they serve.

AGAPE Gift Market Pre-orders

Interested in a Shabby Chic sign with your family/household name on it with a graphic? We are taking pre-orders of two versions of signs from October 2-23. Stop by the table at church starting Oct. 2 to see the two different samples. This is an example of one style of the signs.

Walk for Water: Water Mission. In September, a group from Trinity participated in Walk for Water, helping to expand the awareness of and raise money to support the installation of drinking water treat-ment systems in communities around the world. There are 1.8 billion people in the world lacking access to safe water. In some areas, women & children walk miles every day to collect unsafe drinking water. Over 360 people participated in the event and in total over $80,000 was raised—enough to provide 4,000 people clean, safe drinking water for their lifetime. We hope more will join us next year as we “walk for water” to help others!
