VISION“Jnanam vigyana sahityam”
To preserve the values of vedic wisdom at one end emphasizing the modern scientific knowledge.
MISSION“Satyat na pramaditavyam”
Body, mind and the spirit - all three should be adequately proportionally developed in a balanced manner.
About The CollegeThe Choice of every student….
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD)
engaged in the management of the sacred hill
temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara at Tirupati
(Andhra Pradesh) believes that the temple as a
place of worship must bring about national
integration and, schools and colleges should
light up the path of devotion through education
and enlightenment. Inspired by its zeal to spread
the spiritual values and indian culture, a devout
scholar and an active social worker Dr. Durgabai
Deshmukh engaged some of the finest thinkers of
modern India like Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan,
Dr. C. Anna Rao and Dr. K.L. Rao to establish Sri
Venkateswara College at New Delhi under its
aegis in 1961.
Located today in Dhaula Kuan and
acknowledged as the South Campus’s numero
uno co-educational college offering a wide-
ranging bouquet of up to date study programmes
and boasting an enrolment strength rivaling
many a small university, it has expanded over the
half century adapting dynamically and
continually to felt needs and the emerging
educational demands of the times. The College
imparts high quality education to students
through innovative pedagogy and modern
training facilities, provides holistic personality
development through strong academics coupled
with active participation in co-curricular
programmes that include fine arts, sports and
leadership training. The objective is to develop a
sense of ethics and responsibility in students and
to broaden their perspectives so that they are
able to succeed in today’s global, competitive
and dynamic environment. The four guiding
principles of the doctrine of indian culture,
namely, dedication and duty, material well-being
for the benefit of society, pleasure of meaningful
living and salvation through self-knowledge
were meant and remain still the chosen ideals
vivifying its branches of arts, humanities and
sciences in the college. Unsurprisingly then, it is
perceived as a feather in the cap of today’s
student community to be able to say that they are
a “Venkyite” – a popular mantle many aspire to,
but only a fraction of the aspirants will ultimately
be able to actually claim.
- Ahmad Anwar Muralidhar Rao

The first me I entered the SVC building was as an uncertain teenager, not knowing what to do or where to go. It was uer chaos. And here I am today, three years later standing at the brink of graduaon, and all that seems miles away. The college has taught me to be self dependent and self confident at all mes. To be who you are and to do what you want. College has been the perfect push that I needed and for that I'll be ever grateful. I am what I am today because of SVC.
Shriya Roy, BA English III yr
In my second year of BA Economics at SVC, I got an opportunity to work on an Innovaon project that required collaboraon with the department of Biochemistry. As a part of our study we had to document the socio‐economic and health condions of migrant labour in Delhi NCR. It was an extremely enriching experience for me as this was the first me we took our learning outside the classroom! We received excellent guidance from our professors. It was truly an interdisciplinary learning experience and working on this project was one of the highlights of my college life !

This year's theme was, 'Bollywood ‐ Lights Camera Acon’ and was the first me ever that SVC FAA was covered by Delhi Times for it's innovave markeng style. Having renowned names like Nizami Bandhu (Sufi Night), Raghu Dixit (Rock Night), and Kailash Kher (Star Night) perform this year took Nexus to new heights. FAA this year worked as a family, where all members equally contributed to make 2016 ‐ 17 a great year. This journey has been a learning experience for me and FAA will always remain close to my heart.”
