This week’s focus is on Year 6 Eden Project
visit. On Tuesday 14th March
we visited the Eden Project.
When we arrived we met with
Rosie she
introduced us to the Eden Project
and how it was
made. We then
split into
groups. First we went into the
Rainforest
biome it was so hot there was even a
cool off room. Then we went into the
temperature biome and looked at all
of the different plants. Did you know
that cactus have prickles to stop
animals eating
them. It was
then lunch and I
was so hungry.
We enjoyed it so much I hope we can
visit the Eden Project again. Thank you to Eden Project.

Football Tournament
On Wednesday 15th March the football
team travelled to Redruth School to
play in their local tournament. Quickly,
we walked to the field and started to
warm up. Our first games was against
Lanner. Straight from the kick off, we
started to dominate with great passing
and amazing set pieces.; We ended the
game winning 4-0.
Next up we played Pennoweth School which turned out
to be our toughest game of the tournament. However
we still came away with a 2-0 victory.
After this tough game. We then faced Treleigh School.
Despite us winning out last two games comfortably, we
started slowly again this team only scoring once in the
first half. After a good team talk we came out with
stamina and scored a further 3 goals winning 4-0.
Before we knew it, it was our final game. After a
comfortable first half we decided to mix the team up a bit
with a change that could affect the whole game. Ethan came
out of goal and was very close to scoring.
We finished the tournament in first place and now we are
going through to the second round at Penryn School.

Bling up your bike
On Wednesday 15th March all
of our children were given the
opportunity to bring in their
bikes or scooters. Dave from Sustrans was very kind to come in and help our
children bling up their bike or scooter. Check out the
results. They look amazing.
Comic Relief
Comic relief is happening next Friday and their are a number of ways we as a school are raising money. We have already raised £ 200 through the selling of red noses, which unfortunately we have now sold out of. If your child still wishes to have a red nose they are available in the majority of supermarkets. To begin our comic relief fundraising we will be having a red nose Fun run on Thursday 23rd of March during lunch time to raise awareness. The children will wear their noses and other funny head accessories and run along the rugby field. This is a free to enter event and all we ask for is your support. Then we will be having a non school uniform day on Friday the 24th of March where we will be dressing up as what/who we want to be when we are older. We will ask for a 50p donation for the non school uniform. The third way we are raising money for comic relief is by setting up a stocks and allowing children to throw water balls at staff. It will cost 20p a ball or 1£ for 6. This will happen on top playground at lunch time on the Friday.

On Thursday 16th March our cross
country runners took part in the next
round of races at Newquay School. Josh,
Dylan and Tia ran exceptionally well on
a very tough course. Well done to you
all for getting so far with difficult
conditions on each course in each
round.
Well done to you all.

Well done Michelangelo for his commendation for playing a piano solo in a Jazz Style and
obtaining 86 marks. The adjudicator stated that Michelangelo ‘conveyed true character with
good dotted rhythms and well coordinated hands. The tempo
remained pleasantly even. A
promising player.’
Well done Michelangelo!! A wonderful achievement
“I had been practising a lot before the music festival and was
quite nervous. Me and mum went to Truro to the Wesley Hall for the music festival. There
were six other children taking part in the Jazz group. When it was my turn I got up and felt
really nervous as I thought I might make a mistake. Once I
started playing I forgot about my nerves and played my piano
piece which was ‘Creepy Crawly’ by Peter Gritton. Someone had
told me I would be fine as long as I didn’t look back and it
worked.
After the performance I felt really good as I came second overall
with 86 points and the girl who came first who was 16years old
scored 87. Maybe next year.” Written by Michelangelo.

Big Pedal
The Big Pedal is starting on Monday!
From the 20th to the 31st of March we are
taking part in the UK's largest inter-school
cycling and scooting challenge. Each day we will
record a tally of how many children, parents and siblings scoot or
cycle to school.
Our best 5 days will be entered for our chance to win scooter and
stunt shows or storage for bikes. There will be prizes every day for
the class that cycle the most. And a prize
for the child who travels actively the
most over the Big Pedal.
We would like to remind parents the entrance to our school is at the front of the
building just off Falmouth Road and not the door from the playgrounds at the back of
school. Before school is a very important time for teachers to ensure that they are
well prepared for the start of the school day. If you need to speak to a member of
staff before school please come to the main reception at the front of the school.
The office will deal with any queries at the reception window and if appointments are
needed will be able to assist in making those for you. If you do come in from the
infant school entrance you are able to access reception by walking around the side of
the building.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation on this matter.

to get tickets first.

The cost of tickets are:
£12.00 per adult
£8.00 per child
£17.50 per ticket for a box office seat
Billionaire Boy—David Walliams
‘Heartbreak Productions, together with Mr. Spud and his son, Joe, would like to
invite you to a garage sale (they used to own
500 garages) where they will be selling their
final belongings to raise some money to buy
food. The Formula 1 racing car has already
been taken by the bailiffs, but there might be
something interesting left. Bring your picnics,
blankets and fold up chairs and come to the
helicopter pad outside at Bumfresh Towers to
hear the story of how Mr Spud made his bil-
lions and lost it all... and how Joe became the
richest boy in the world.’
Recommended age: 7+
Running time: 2 hours including a 20 minute
interval after 50 minutes
