This is one type of conifer, called a pine tree. You can see the wide branching and the rough bark (see the next slide for close-up).

See how spiky they are. (If you throw them in a fire they pop!)

This is a maple.Remember on the pine tree branches were spread out; on this tree they go out a little then up.

This bark is smoother then a pine tree but still rough.

Can you see how many leaves there are and how thin the branches are?

This is a cedar

Can you tell that it is a up- side down V shape?

See how the bark is coming off the tree? Does it look smoother or rougher?
